RecyGlo: Name and detailed description of the project: The project that will receive this award is a project called RecyGlo. RecyGlo is a waste management company that is based in the country Myanmar. RecyGlo uses seven steps to help ensure the effectiveness of the project. The steps are placing bins, training, segregation of bins, record, transportation of recycling, recycling, and reporting. These seven steps are how the leaders of the organization keep everything running smoothly. Their values are teamwork, professionalism, innovation, and humanity. They are working on expanding their waste management project to people across the country (RecyGlo, n.d.). Name of the IFI that handled the project: World Economic Forum Type of medal (gold, silver, or bronze): Gold Positive impacts and how they could have been more impactful: The main positive impact with RecyGlo is waste management. They have stopped over thirty thousand tons of waste from going into the landfills. They have also educated almost one billion people about waste management (Bailey, 2022). These impacts could be more impactful if they branch out to more countries. This project should also include the United States and surrounding countries as well.
Negative impacts and how they could have been avoided: The only negative thing about RecyGlo that i saw was that they have only given bins to a couple of businesses in Myanmar. They would have a greater impact if more people could participate in the project (Bailey, 2022). Oceanium Name and detailed description of the project: The name of this project is oceanium. Oceanium is a company, based in the United Kingdom, that uses seaweed to make food and makeup products. The food is a healthier alternative to meat based products. People who are vegetarians can get protein without eating meat. Even the packaging they use for the seaweed is good for the environment (World Economic Forum, 2020). Name of the IFI that handled the project: World Economic Forum Type of medal (gold, silver, or bronze): Silver Positive impacts and how they could have been more impactful: Oceanium is working to help reduce hunger all over the world.
