Read The Constitutional Convention boxed feature on page 12. Answer question
#1 in the box: How would the recent changes in U.S. demographics translate into changes in the
content of any constitution produced by a Constitutional Convention today?

During the ratification struggle, the new Constitution was barely ratified in a
number of states. What do you think would have happened to the young nation if the
Constitution had not been approved and the Articles of Confederation had to continue to be used
as our governing document?

If you could travel back in time to the Constitutional Convention, what ONE thing
would you, with your knowledge of the future, tell the framers and founding fathers needed to be
included in the document that you think it needs today?

During your study of this lesson you studied the issues of national versus state
powers under the Constitution. Answer this question: "Do you think states should fight for more
states' rights today to control affairs within their borders without national government
interference?" Explain your answer and give examples to support your position.
