1) Enneagram: Take the Enneagram Personality Test discussed in the lecture a) Which personality trait did the test say you are most closely associated with? The test said I am an Enneagram Type 3, which is The Achiever. b) Do you agree with the test's assessment? Why or why not? I do agree with the results. This is because basically, everything that was said about a Type 3 personality was spot on to how I am. For example, the website said “ Threes are socially competent, often extroverted, and sometimes charismatic. They know how to present themselves, and are self-confident, practical, and driven. Threes have a lot of energy and often seem to embody a kind of zest for life that others find contagious.” All of this is very true about me. 2) Reflection: After watching the Tedtalk from Valerie Kondos Field and respond/reflect on the topic of her discussion. What are your thoughts and how can coaches use her advice within their own teams? Valerie had a very nice and motivational talk revolving around how real success is creating champions in our lives, win or lose. I enjoyed everything she said and it made me look at things from a different perspective. She mentions that winning should not be our only metric of success, or even having our ego sit center stage because that process breaks human beings. Coaches can use her advice by realizing instead of focusing on winning, they should focus on developing champions in life, through sport. They could use tough love to develop trust through patience, respectful honesty, and accountability. In life and in coaching, you can dictate your way to a win, but not to success. It is all about having a “champion mentality” and asking yourself if your actions are in line with your goals.
