1 PSY 108 Project Two: Behavior Change Blueprint Part 1. Set a Goal My goal is to complete three Internal Affairs investigations by end of November. Part 2: Apply Self-Assessments Coping Strengths I scored high on Reflective Coping (39), which will benefit achieving my goal due to my ability to brainstorm and visualize my preparedness. By preparing in this manner, I am able to focus and plan to ensure I achieve my goal and success. I have a tendency to put a lot on my plate and avoid some of my other duties. In Avoidance Coping, I scored a 7 out of 12. At times I will be overwhelmed with more than usual administrative investigations, and this can lead to avoiding some and not managing my time property. I also tend to put off some of the more controversial investigations due to the amount of work they entail and the time frame I have to complete. Grit I scored 39 out of 50 in the Grit Test. I am a pretty gritty person, who responds well under pressure and ensures my work is completed. I worked hard to get where I am today, and I am determined to succeed in my current position. I need to learn to focus on the task at hand and not always get pulled into other directions that involve other aspects of my career. I will utilize my grit to focus and ensure these investigations get completed in a timely manner. I will put aside my other task that are less important at this time and only focus on these three tasks that are time sensitive. Personality Traits
2 Conscientiousness (organized, achievement-oriented, dependable) personality trait is what I believe will help me achieve my goal. I scored the highest (44 out of 50) in this category and believe it will be what I need to stay organized and persistent to achieve my goal. I believe the two most important traits I need to succeed in my goal is Openness and Conscientiousness. I scored high in both these traits and as stated above Conscientiousness is a valuable trait in achieving this goal. Openness, will also ensure my achievement of this goal, by being practical and being open to new ideas that may help me succeed. Part 3: Integrate Concepts How I Can Use My Strengths to Overcome My Weaknesses By using Reflective Coping, I will sit down and set out a plan to achieve my goal, to include setting an hour aside a day to handle other non-related issues and spend the remainder of my day on achieving my goal. Using Conscientiousness trait, I will be organized, and goal oriented in setting out to achieve each tasks. I will be open to new ideas or areas which I have not thought of before to achieve this goal. Finally, my grit, I will utilize my grit to push through and make sure I achieve this goal. By following this model, it will prepare me for the next set of goals I will set for myself.
