Hello professor and peers, Calvin After seeing Calvin, I noticed three milestones. Though he didn't say anything during the observation, he was nevertheless aware of his surroundings. Calvin demonstrated fine motor abilities by grasping the piano and pressing the buttons, and gross motor skills by picking up the Tupperware and moving the piano. As the adult spoke a few words to Calvin, he laughed and bobbed his head, demonstrating his sensory reaction to music. Calvin's speech was one aspect that I thought was overlooked. An emphasis on Calvin's lack of speech and sound production will be crucial given his age, as was noted in the previous observation. Using play that has to do with music, we can assist him concentrate on that and get him more involved in the task. Calvin's ability to play well with others is the second thing I didn't notice, but it's something we can easily concentrate on by placing him in a group with other kids and watching him play. Importance of Play in Early Childhood A child's desire for social connection with peers is met through play. A child's ability to focus is enhanced by hands-on play with tools. Vitamin D, which increases physical strength, is beneficial to children who play in the sun. Learning environments that are inspiring, both indoors and outdoors, enhance kids' growth and well-being, foster creativity, and imagination, and alter behavior. Difficult roadblocks are seen as a chance when opportunities arise. Youngsters flourish in settings that are lovely and full of natural features. Play-based learning teaches them to be considerate of others, take turns, and adhere to norms. I may concentrate on language and social-emotional skills to enhance Calvin's play development. For example, have him mimic sounds like "Vroom!" and "Beep! Beep!" using toy cars or trucks. Ask him questions to assist with labeling the toys and other items they are playing with. Additionally, dressing up and role-playing housework are enjoyable ways to help him develop his social-emotional skills and foster independence by teaching him to follow cues from others. Calvin's development can really benefit by dressing up and acting out various scenarios with the adult in the room, even though during the observation he is not playing or interacting with other children. He will gain verbal skills and social skills and once he is around other children it perhaps can become second nature. Bernice
