Experiment #1: The Stroop Experiment. *Note: In order to receive completion credit, your responses must be relevant to the question asked. What is one learning outcome or course topic you are excited to learn while in PSYCH 100B? I am excited to develop scientiLic literacy skills and use this to critically evaluate research. In previous courses I’ve taken I have learned how to analyze data, but not yet analyze research methods and my own. I am looking forward to being able to do this in the form of a presentation. 2. If you experience challenges throughout the quarter, what is your personal plan of action to reach out for support? My personal plan is to set enough time to study and Lind an ofLice hour that works best for me each week to get the extra support I need. I will also sign up for peer learning sessions on weeks that I need more clarity. Part 2: ReIlect on the Stroop Experiment 1. What was the task that you were required to complete in this experiment? Was this task the same for both of the posters?
I was asked to read the printed color of each word shown from top to bottom. The task was not The task in the Lirst poster was to start from the top left corner and the task in the second poster was to start from the top right corner. 2. Did this task, however, seem more difLicult to do for one poster than the other? If so, why may there be different response times while viewing different posters? This task seemed more difLicult to do for the second poster. This may be because I am used to reading left to right and top to bottom so it took more effort to read off colors right to left top to bottom. The second poster’s instructions may have distracted me because I was focused on trying to read in the right order, so I blurted out what the colors of the words said instead of the actual color.
