Part 1: The dispositional theory or the trait theory is an approach towards the study of human personality by examining their traits. A trait is defined as a continuous behavior, thought, or emotion that ends up forming part of one's habit. This theory proposes that the traits are aspects of personality that are existent in all individuals and are stable. The only issue is the fact that these traits vary in different individuals. Therefore, the primary proponent of this theory is that our traits determine our personality (Allport, 1955; Feist et al., 2018). The biological personality theory is based on the premise that individuals inherit genetic components responsible for how they learn and adapt to specific issues and aspects of life. According to Eysenck, the personality of a person is determined by the balance between the excitation and inhibition processes of the Autonomic Nervous System (Eysenck, 1968; Feist et al., 2018). Part 2: Part 3 Question 1: Summarize each dimension of your personality in 2-4 sentences; include examples of your behavior reflected in each dimension . Response : Openness - As a person who has a rather high openness rating, I can connect seamless ideas faster. This makes me more creative than the average person and more imaginative when playing with my kids or doing activities. Conscientiousness - Having a high consciousness score, I am more of a long, sighted person. This means that I am organized and determined to achieve my goals.
Extraversion - It shows that I am more of an extrovert with a high extraversion score, and I tend to find support from the outside world in the form of friendships, relationships or being around others. Agreeableness - An average score in agreeableness makes me a person who empathizes with others and can put another’s thoughts and feelings before mine. This makes me less confrontational and more agreeable. Neuroticism - I received a low score in neuroticism which means that I am less likely to react to pain and misfortunes with fear or anger. However, I am more of the type to just brush it off and keep going. Question 2: How accurate do you believe the Big Five Personality Test is in its description of your personality? Explain your answer. Response : I believe that the test is accurate about my personality. This is because it explains most of my reactions to issues and how I have been reacting to them over time. It also allowed me to be able to describe myself more effectively without having to explain so much. Part 4: Question1: You have been invited to an interview for a position as a salesperson in a retail store. Explain how well you would fit this role by describing your personality to the hiring manager. Response: As a salesperson, I do not react to failure by using fear, but instead, I tend to brush these failures off and try again while also focusing on the next stride. Along with the fact that I have a high openness rating, which means that I am more likely to develop and discover exciting and new ways in which I can sell more goods. This is also compiled with the fact that I am very determined in anything that I try to accomplish. Question2: You are considering a position as a bookkeeper for a small accounting firm. How well would your personality fare in this environment? Include at least one biological factor in your explanation. Response: As a bookkeeper, I am more likely to deploy the organized skillset and determination that I possess. This will ensure that I can keep track of records effectively and ensure that they are well organized. The fact that I have a very high intelligence quotient will ensure that I can effectively deal with these issues. Question3: National Geographic magazine is looking for a photographer. Which personality dimensions would require high scores to be successful in this position? Response: I am a person with a high openness score, and this makes me very creative and imaginative. With the constant need to look for creativity and originality in photos, I believe that this openness and continuous ability to create will be essential. Also, the fact that I have a low score in neuroticism means that I am
