Affective Characteristics Instrument Be sure to attach your affective characteristics instrument to this assignment. You can either upload it as a separate document, or on a separate page in this document. It should be formatted as you will give to your subjects. It can either be a survey with scale items (Likert-type or 100-mm line) or with open-ended questions. What was your construct? (e.g., latent variable) Student Self-Efficacy How does this construct relate to Social Cognitive Theory? If a student believes that they can succeed in the class, and grasp the concepts at hand, they are more likely to be persistent in their efforts. This confidence a student has in himself/herself will mean a higher effort towards learning especially when faced with challenging material. Once the student has a high self-efficacy they are more likely to complete the tasks that the teacher gives to them. How do ALL of your items measure this construct? Each item addresses the students emotional state and comfortability in the classroom. This is done by their willingness to share during discussions, their level of excitement to learn, and how they feel amongst their peers. If a student is comfortable in my classroom, and is confident among their classmates, then they likely have a high self-efficacy.
