Unit 10 Study Questions Barnes et al. (2014) 1. In no more than 5 sentences, describe the VB-MAPP. (2 pts) The Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) is a five- component program which is made up of milestones assessments, barriers assessments, transition assessments, task analysis and skills tracking, and placement and IEP goals. These are used to simply measure, evaluate and guide on how to address the deficits if any found in verbal behavior. The current study focused on the milestones assessment which is made up of three developmental levels 0–18, 18–30, and 30–48 months whereby cornerstone development happens at in children. 2. State the results of the study as displayed in Figure 1. (3 pts) The pretest probes for Lucy and Ethel showcased that prior to BST they were not able to implement at the milestone criterion of either levels of 90 % of points. The results for lucy were in the upper 60’s (level one) and 50’s (level two) in the pretest whilst in the posttest they were in the higher 90’s (level one) and 80’s (level two). For Ethel in pretest, she was in the higher 50’s (level one) and upper 50’s (level two). Posttest she was in the upper 90’s (level one & two). All these showcase that BST improved performance in the children. 3. State at least one limitation of this study mentioned by the authors. (1 pt)
