Growth and Development Assignment # 2 (7/12/2022) Describe briefly: A. How can an adolescent achieve a sense of their own identity? ANS-The process of developing an identity can take time but most adolescents succeed in developing a stable identity. Kohlberg's theory proposes that moral reasoning is divided into the following stages: preconventional morality, conventional morality, and postconventional morality. Helping adolescents develop their identity can cause stress as teenagers want independence and begin to pressure their parents for more control. Using Erikson's fifth stage of development, explain these different types of identity. Positive reinforcements of effort, good choices, and perseverance from parents   can help adolescents develop a strong sense of self. Erik Erikson, a psychologist, argues that if a teen does not establish what their personal beliefs and values are then they will have an identity crisis. B. What developmental tasks and challenges may occur during the Young-adult years? ANS- In young adult year there are many developmental tasks and challenges which may occur in different way y oung adults may experience a great deal of shame,   problems with self-esteem, withdrawing from social connections, an unwillingness to try at anything like fixing their time at work school they might feel depressed, have anxiety, substance use, and even total isolation. Few tasks are below: Achieving autonomy: They try to establish oneself as an independent person. Establishing identity: Establishing their own likes, dislikes, preferences, and philosophies.
Developing emotional stability: Becoming more stable emotionally and which is considered a sign of maturing. Establishing a career: establishing a career or at least an initial career direction and pursuing an education towards for future. Finding intimacy: forming first close, long-term relationships Becoming part of a group or community: young adults may, for the first time, become involved with various groups in the community.  Establishing a residence and learning how to manage a household: learning how to budget and keep a home maintained. Becoming a parent and rearing children: learning how to manage a household with children. Making marital or relationship adjustments and learning to parent C. Identify signs of intimate partner abuse. Why is accurate identification of this problem often difficult to determine? ANS- Identifying a problem can be the most difficult because not everyone is strong to handle it or try to fight against abusive partner. There will be aspect of problem solving because of the obstacles that will overcome. When looking back, a problem and solution may seem obvious because you think you are not. situation of intimate partner abuse refers to behavior in an intimate relationship that results in physical, mental, or sexual harm to the victim. the women cannot stand up for herself and express her views on problems. due to her low self- perception, she becomes increasingly reliant on a powerful individual, in this case, her husband. intimate partner violence is prevalent in relationships. The overview of domestic violence legislation and intimate partner abuse victims, as well as the impacts of intimate partner abuse on children, couples, and society are also investigated. Intimate partner abuse refers to a relationship in which one spouse gives the other bodily, mental, or sexual damage.
