PSY 355 Module Two Milestone Template Complete this template by replacing the bracketed text with the relevant information. Respond to the following rubric criteria: 1. Describe how intentionality can enhance group collaboration in 5 to 9 sentences. Include the following: Describe what it means to act with intention. Describe how intentionality enables us to attribute mental states to others. Describe how our awareness of the intentions of others can promote group collaboration. Intentionality is when a personal acts and does an action on purpose. When a group comes together and shares the same intention, goals, or values it is referred to as collective intentionality (Schweikard,2021). Being able to act purposely helps us to see the mental state of other individuals by interpreting their suggested actions. When working in a group, it is very helpful to be able to collaborate with other members of the group. When the group has the same ideas and intentions, it allows discussion to happen to best reach their goals. 2. Describe how empathy can enhance group collaboration in 5 to 9 sentences. Include the following: Describe what it means to walk in someone else’s shoes. Describe how empathy enables us to attribute mental states to others. Describe the ways in which empathy can promote group collaboration. Empathy is understanding emotionally what other people are feeling, seeing, and imagining from their point of view (Cherry, 2023). When we understand how the other person is feeling or understand why they are passionate about their ideas, this will lead to less misunderstandings and arguments. We as people need to be more open minded and try and understand why a person feels the way they feel or is acting. When a group of people are empathetic of each other’s feelings and ideas, the group will be more productive and conducive. You cannot work together with other people and reach a goal if you can not see where the other person is coming from. 2
