2 One-Way Experimental Designs Replication is the process of repeating previous research (Stangor, 2015) which are divided into four different types. The types include exact replications, conceptual replication, constructive replication, and participant replication. Each of these replications is unique in its own design for its own results. As the title states, exact replication is repeating previous research with the goal of being as close to the exact same as the original experiment when it was first conducted. This study might be useful in some cases, but it would be more likely to have a higher failure rate and harder to find examples. Exact studies are almost impossible to recreate as so many factors disturb the study from environment, participants and even equipment. A more successful replication is conceptual research as it shows how the factors are still effective and can produce the result as the original study. If the researcher wants to study the impact of the scent of flowers, bouquets can be used as the dependent variable as it was in the original study, even the same types of flowers. If the same result from the original study was found that it brought a calming effect and sense of happiness, the exposure to scent could be generalized. Constructive replication is another form, also known as the most popular form of replication (Stangor, 2015). New conditions are introduced in experiments while using the original tests. The simplest test for this would be to replace violent video games like shooter and war games with Minecraft, the building block game. There can still be mild violence in this
