PSY 215 Module Three Activity Template Complete this template by replacing the bracketed text with the relevant information. Part One To use this template, you will first select one option from the list provided in the Module Three Activity Guidelines and Rubric. Address each of the rubric criteria listed below with a minimum of 3 to 5 sentences per bullet. Support your answers with a credible source when necessary. Describe the possible biological causes of your selection. Anxiety, according to Hooley “ worry excessively and are hypervigilant for possible signs of threat in their environment”(Hooley,2019 pg 185). A possible bipological cause of Anxiety as stated by Hooley are ,”The biological factors involved in GAD can be attributed to genetics, neurotransmitter abnormalities, and neurobiological differences” (Hooley2019. Pg 189). This clearly shows that there is biological factors contributed to a person’s suffering from anxiety. Describe the possible psychological causes of your selection. A possible psychological cause of anxiety is costant worry of the unknown and/or unpredictability of future events. According to Hooley, “some evidence indicates that people with GAD may be more likely to have had a history of trauma in childhood” (Hooley,2019.pg187). If the causation of axiety can be correlated to childhood trauma, where the conception of stability and protection are formulated then this leaves children, that folllows then into adulthood always worrying about what could when could potentially happen later. Describe the possible social and cultural causes of your selection Possible social and cultural causes of anxiety are environment, bias, gender, lack of resources and social comparisons. For example, social comparisons create a feeling of low self worth and lack of self effeciacy, so people loss faith in their ability to be regular functioning adults. Describe the relationship between the biological, psychological, and sociocultural factors of your selection. The relationship between biological, psychological and sociocultural factors with anxiety are interrelated. Although not all three are present to create anxiety, these factors create a cycle in which anxiety is caused, perpetuated and treated. It is important for these componants to be individually assessed by professionals in order to craete a comprehensive treament mordality, because as stated 1
previously not all three componants have to be present in person’s suffering with anxiety, but based on the causation, current presenting outside stimulus, and correlation to all 3 areas is necessary for diagnoistic and treatment purposes. Part Two Next, from the list, you will select two options that are known to share symptomatology or behaviors. In a minimum of 3 to 5 sentences, explain the ways in which the behaviors associated with the disorders overlap and discuss the potential diagnostic challenges presented by the overlap.
