One of the earliest philosophical debates related to psychology is nature vs nurture. Nature is the collective term for an individual's genetics and inherited traits that shape their identity, including their physical attributes and mental traits. The term "nurture" describes the external factors—such as upbringing, social interactions, early years, and culture—that mold us into the people we are (Cherry, 2019). Various subfields of psychology tackle this problem in opposition to one another. Whereas behaviorism concentrates on the effects of outside factors, biological psychology emphasizes the significance of heredity. This idea generally focuses on how environmental factors and genes affect people's progress. As a Case Manager, I have witnessed kids who grew up in less-than-ideal circumstances go from suffering to accomplishing amazing achievements. Although heredity can influence some aspects, it does not ultimately define an individual. If someone is placed in a fantastic situation that is secure financially and personally, they can truly thrive. Continuity vs. Discontinuity considers how kids grow up. Do they exhibit any foreseeable patterns in social, linguistic, and cognitive development? Do kids experience sudden changes, or do they develop gradually?" McLeod (2017). It is believed that normative formation is an ongoing, continuous process. Changes are seen as steady by continuity. "Children become more skillful in thinking, talking, or acting much the same way as they get taller" (McLeod, 2017, p. 1). According to discontinuity theory, growth happens suddenly and results in distinct behaviors regardless of an individual's age. There is a chance for modifications due to biological factors. As an aspiring professional, continuity is what I choose. In my opinion, kids undergo developmental phases, and as they mature, they will also improve their "thought, communicating
