Peer Review Form Instructions Part One, Quantitative Assessment of Peer (page 1) You will provide 12 specific ratings for the group member you are evaluating. Please check “always”, “often”, “sometimes”, or “never” for the 12 areas presented in this section. Part Two, Qualitative Assessment of Peer (page 2) You will provide written feedback regarding the same group member by answering two questions. This information will not be shared with the team member or any other student in your class. Evaluation of your Peer Review The peer review grade, worth 5% of your total grade will be determined by the quality of the feedback you provide. The quality of your feedback will be evaluated using the following guidelines: A) Are specific behaviors described? (vs. non-specific generalizations) B) Are those behaviors described clearly, so that the team member could recognize what he/she has done to help the team, and what he/she could do to improve the team’s performance? C) Are the content and tone of the evaluation constructive and helpful (not mean, petty, or antagonistic)? D) Is the feedback descriptive, rather than evaluative? (“I feel our team would benefit if you gave us your opinion earlier in the discussion.” vs. “You rarely spoke during our discussions, so you really didn’t help.”) Using the guidelines above, the feedback you provide will be evaluated by faculty and assigned a value of 1-5 percentage points as follows: 1 point for the Quantitative Assessment section: Does it align with the information given in the Qualitative Assessment section? 4 points for the Qualitative Assessment section: 2 points for the statement written under question 1 2 points for the statement written under question 2
