Final Project Milestone Four: Initial Draft of Methods and Results Gloria Goodrum Southern New Hampshire University Psy520: Research Methods Instructor: Emily Sweitzer August 13, 2023
Respondents Students who are presently studying PSY 510 Research Methods in Psych I and PSY 520 Research Methods in Psych II at Southern New Hampshire University were the individuals I chose for the purpose of my research. The ages, ethnic origin, gender identity, and nationality varied among those taking part. The questionnaire required every individual between five and ten minutes to fill out for this research. Resources The Qualtrics survey tool is the one I chose to get the information I needed. This is a practical and typical tool that many individuals at the institution utilize for carrying out studies. I created a survey given to those who participated in this manner. All respondents had easy access to the questionnaire on any cell phone, handheld device, or other electronic device. The outcomes of their questionnaire were entered using the IBM SPSS application right away for accurate analysis. A sequence of inquiries regarding stress and its signs: there are ten inquiries in this questionnaire, and it will require roughly five minutes to answer each of them. Rules and Regulations Before beginning any kind of study, I got the go-ahead from the attending SNHU participants. I also gave the participants all the information regarding the study and allowed them to ask questions or voice any concerns. Additionally, I discussed this study's primary goal and what it might imply for the development of mental health. Everyone who took part was given the chance to deny their involvement in the research before moving ahead towards the following and
most crucial phase, getting authorization. The questionnaire was made available to those who took it via a URL on the SNHU Qualtrics website. The poll started with demographic information, then moved on to inquiries about relatives as well as their everyday stressors. Ethical concerns All studies carried out for this research project must follow the rules and principles of the APA Code of Ethics. Prior to taking part in the trial, every subject supplied their informed consent. When the study started, everybody who participated received the following instructions: The objective of the study, its anticipated time frame, and processes; the ability to refuse to take part as well as cancel from the study once taking part has started; the probable repercussions of dropping or withdrawing; conceivable elements that might be anticipated to shape their agreement to contribute, including but not limited to possible threats, unease, or negative implications; any potential study advantages privacy restrictions; and incentivization They give attendees a chance to ask concerns and get responses (APA, 2021, para. 2). Concerning queries that will bring up ethical issues, in my opinion, are those that inquire about stress, its signs, and various other linked subjects. It's possible that certain respondents won't feel at ease telling us about such details. We must emphasize that participation in this research project is completely optional and private. Therefore, they're given the option to withdraw from the research at any time. Or, once they decide to stay, their survey answers will be kept entirely private and secure.
