Erica Caudill INT-212A-25007-FA23 Adult Studies Seminar II Session 1 Questions 15 October 2023 1. What does the word “Christian” mean in the university’s name, Colorado Christian University. The word “Christian” takes on so many varied meanings. However, for the purpose of answering this question, Christian is defined as a group of people that share the belief that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. Even though there are many different denominations, Colorado Christian University rests on a belief system where truth matters and where there is a unifying center (Christ) which holds all things and disciplines together. Ultimately, the word evangelical best describes Colorado Christian University. 2.How does this meaning impact your view of your education here at CCU? As a new Christian, I am very excited to be a part of a Christian university. I did in depth research on many universities and felt that Colorado Christian was the best fit for me, because all things are centered around Christ and his teachings. I also feel strongly that receiving an education at a “Christian” university will enable me to share my views as a Christian without being judged in today’s world. I also feel as though I will be encouraged to have more ethical and professional standards, which may not be the case in a traditional university. As I stated earlier, I am a new Christian and I feel hopeful that I will learn and grow in God’s word.
