Instructions
The purpose of this assignment is to deepen your learning from teaching
or engaging in the material outside of class.
This write-up is not
meant to be a regurgitation of the material to the teacher or solely a summary of your conversation about this course. Responses must show thought, reflection, pondering and depth with college-level writing skills. 1.
Provide a simple statement answering who you shared with.
I am blessed that I have the opportunity to have a church member as a supervisor. Him, and I talk all the time of things related to church. Today, our friend Jenny walked in our conversation. God works in mysterious ways! She needed comfort and knew we were the ones whom could give her that hope.
2.
In a brief paragraph, identify the questions or insights from your personal study that informed your thinking as you prepared for your discussion.
Knowing our divine identity is necessary for meaningful belonging; otherwise, we
would just be wasting energy and time altering ourselves to find acceptance in areas that don't reflect or link with our eternal nature. Furthermore, how we choose to belong may impact our mindsets and actions as we modify to social norms and standards. Where we belong influences who we grow over time.
3.
In 1-2 paragraph(s), write about what you learned as a result of this conversation. What was this conversation about? What direct lines or quotes from our reading material or your research were you referencing or thinking about as you had this intentional conversation? I learned that our mortal and immortal identity is to belong and become. We are God's children and, if we make the decision, we become disciples of Jesus Christ. Putting
such identities will lead us to the most gratifying and lasting feeling of authentication and
identity, as well as help us carry out our ultimate destiny. Regardless of our existing social situations, the process of appreciating our divine self-identity, identifying with God
and Jesus Christ, and being like them lets us achieve joy in our daily lives. Today, I am inspired to bear witness that I know God recognizes and loves all his children regardless of their current trials. He grieves when we grieve and is happy when we are smile. He listens our requests and answers in the best loving way.
4.
In 1-2 paragraph(s), write about what you learned as a result of this conversation. Answer the following questions: o
What deepened connections and insights did you feel because of this conversation? o
What did you agree/disagree with in your discussions? How did you handle this? o
Did anything discussed change your thinking? If so, what and how? o
How will you build on this knowledge to strengthen your family (now and/or in the future)? o
What do you feel inspired to do now that you have read the material and engaged in this conversation?
God is our loving Father, and Jesus Christ, His Son, is our Savior and Redeemer. We will
eventually become one with them if we value our divine identity and choose to belong to them, and if we help others in doing the same. We no longer belong as "part" of a group when we take part in God's work; we become truly integrated with God and His Son, Jesus Christ. There is no higher feeling than knowing that God trusts in us sufficiently to put us to pass on eternal life to others. I have learned so much from this discussion. I can recall one of my favorite childhood movies The Lion King, towards the beginning of the movie, Mufasa tells Simba that he has forgotten him. This reminds me of God and us. We here on earth at times forget from where we come and who our greatest role model are. As the movie continues, Mufasa reminds Simba that he is a born KING, just as we are to God. In our discussion, we didn’t have disagreements, as John and I were trying to comfort our
friend that is currently “pre-grieving” the soon passing of her grandfather in the next 12 hrs. I want her to understand that God is with her and her family. That God knows her sorrows and her families. He knows that God is currently with her grandfather and comforting as he leaves the mortal world.
