Grantley Garner Rel C 471 Assignment 13  Jeramiah 31:31-34 o Speaks of the past covenants that God had made with His children and refers to them breaking it. o States how God will again make another covenant with His children.  Points to God’s nature of love o God points to our role and His role as father and child o Verse 34 wraps up with the Lord saying how He will forgive them (and us) of our transgressions and remember our sins no more  Jeramiah 32:38-41 o Speaks of the path that we must take to God—His way  “One heart” o God says that He will not turn his back to those that do good.  If we choose to follow His way and be of “one heart” o The blessing that God will put us in a “land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.” 5. What are the most important truths for your students to feel and testify of today? Truth #1: God, as our loving Heavenly Father, will bless us as His covenant people as we live His gospel with all our hearts. A. How is it relevant? (What is the Problem?) When we begin with the end in mind we are blessed with gained knowledge and a sense of direction of who we are and what we can do in this life. a. How will you help the students feel and experience the problem? The problem of not understanding who you and sense of identity will be lightened as they understand this truth. B. How will you lead the students to deep personal study of the scriptures to find answers (to the problem)? I would invite them to read Christ’s visit to the Nephites in 3 Nephi and ask them how they feel like He makes a new covenant with them and the Nephites response to it. How can we follow their example in our day? C. After they have an opportunity to share what they learned and identify principles. How might you help them understand the principles and doctrine more deeply? First ask them what they understand from what we have learned and ask them to share highlights from the reading. Afterwards, share another example of God making a covenant with His people and how President Nelson is inviting us to do the same.

D. How can you invite them to feel (ponder/share experiences)? I would invite them to write their journals, then share in small groups the feelings and impressions they’ve had of how they can better become God’s covenant people. E. How will you provide an opportunity to apply? Invite them to share and council with the Lord through a prayer how they will and can become a better covenant keeper.
