Benchmark - Gospel Essential Beliefs
During the course of this college class and going over the essentials of Christian values
and many other details that may not have been previous common knowledge. People outside of
the Christian belief system, or even for the people of that demographic can find this class to be
very informative. The class was able to teach the purpose and values of believing and faith and
how Jesus Christ was a savior for all of humanity. A better understanding of the religion will be
found while conducting an analysis of the Christian world view and the Christian foundation.
There are things in the bible that sound like they have very similar, if not the same meaning but
that is not the case, and it is essential to be able to understand each component to understand the
gospel essentials. In this essay, there will be information and answers provided for questions
regarding the nature of God, humanity, Jesus himself, and restoration.
Nature of God
What is the Triune God?
The Triune God is just another way to say the holy trinity and while the phrases can be
interchangeable, the holy trinity is more well known. Triune God is where one being can appear
as three specific persons eternally. These persons are called the father, son, and spirit. These
people all are equals due to them still being God and there only being one God.
What are God’s characteristics?
1
The description of gods characteristics can be a little tricky to explain just due to him not
being visible but also the holy trinity where he is three different forms or entities. However, God
can be described as a merciful, caring, loving, holy, and eternal. There are many other attributes
associated with God but those are some of the main ones that get discussed.
What is His creation?
In the bible it is concluded that God did not have a creator, leading to the point that he
does not have a beginning or end and is instead and eternal entity. It is said that God is an
omnipresent being that is also all knowing. God created the earth and all that inhabits it. God
showed grace to the humankind and gave them the world to replenish and care for the earth.
Nature of Humanity
What is Human Nature?
A quote based out of genesis 1:27 “
So God created
mankind
in his own
image,
in
the
image of God
he created them;
male and female
he created them.” Humans are made from gods
image which means that we are all of the same qualities as him just without the power. However,
since the fall happened, we are also inherently bad and that is where Jesus’ crucifixion comes in
to save us from those sins and give us a clean slate.
What is Human Purpose?
The purpose of humans is to live in harmony and to love one another and the creator just
as Jesus loves us. The end goal is to live our lives and have faith in God and Jesus so we can live
in eternal heaven with him again one day. Humans were created out of his image so with him
being a good entity, inherently we are as well. This is why he is said to love us so much.
John
2
3:16
“
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who
believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life
.”
What is the Root Cause of Human Problems?
It is supposed that due to the incident with Adam and eve disobeying gods’ orders in the
garden and creating the fall. Humans were then forced to be punished. This meant that now
instead of bliss, we were born into an already sinful world and have to endure things like pain,
poverty, greed and more as a direct result of their sin. It is said that one could be saved from this
by having faith in Jesus and he will be merciful.
Nature of Jesus
What is Jesus’s True Identity?
Just as I have said before, it can be tricky to understand the true identity of Jesus Christ
himself due to the holy trinity part but in the eyes of Christians he is the son of the father and the
savior of the world. Jesus was the chosen physical being to prove and provide evidence of Gods
endless love and mercy. It becomes trickier to understand in the way that Jesus was fully man
and fully God at the same time. This was how God chose to come down and feal our pain and
temptation. The taking of Jesus’ life is the beginning foundation of the Christian world view.
What was Jesus’s Kingdom Purpose?
Jesus’ kingdom, also known as heaven, it was a sign of redemption and a type of reward.
It was said that if a person believed in the Jesus and God, they would be able to go to heaven
after they died since their sins were washed away and forgiven by having faith. Jesus was put
here to save us from death, and in return if we believe in him, we will get eternal bliss in heaven
with him like he wants for all of us.

Through the New Testament, it solely teaches humans about the miracles performed by
Jesus, his work and gives a guideline of how to live. Christians believe that without Jesus there
will be so salvation and it is only through belief and faith that one could change that. From (John
14:6) “
Jesus answered,
“I am
the way
and the truth
and the life.
No one comes to the father
except through me.””
Restoration
What is the Solution to Human Problems according to the Christian Worldview?
The Christian world view sees the answer to human problems as redemption, making a
conscious effort to choose God over sin day in and day out. In the (topic 5 overview), it is said
that there are three parts to restoration and there is no way to God without them. The three parts
are repentance, redemption, and renewal. Since humans are sinful beings, they must repent
before they can be with God.
What Role do Grace, Faith, and Repentance play in Christian Salvation?
Christians see it as very important to repent in order to get into heaven.
“
If we confess our
sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins
and purify us from all unrighteousness”
(John 1:9). The problem lies within the part where people assume it is a one-time quick fix
solution to sinning but that is not the case and like I said before, it needs to be consistent.
Otherwise, it is a waste of time and probably would not do anything good for you.
How do Christians think that Transformation of Self and Society Happen?
Christians were taught that in order to receive salvation Jesus must be accepted into
one’s heart and understood to be the lord and savior. Redemption is also not earned or deserved
but simply given over to us by God who is merciful. The last step is renewal, and this happens

when the holy spirit joins and washes over you to make you reborn and have a new life walking
along side Jesus and God.
Christian Foundations
How is the Nature of God Essential to the Christian Worldview?
The nature of God is incredibly essential to the Christian worldview because belief in
Jesus and God is the center of the entire religion. Just like most other religion, there really is
nothing there without a righteous or holly leader of some kind. God provides safety, guidance,
and reassurance to many of his followers.
How is the Nature of Humanity Essential to the Christian Worldview?
The nature of humanity is essential to the Christian worldview because without their
creation, there would have been no one to populate the earth or to spread the word of God. Even
though sin is what made the fall, humans were created from the image and likeliness of God
himself
(Holland & Diffy, 2022). That is why he found a way to restore humanity and bring them
to salvation by crucifying his only son. He could have thrown in the towel and given up, but he
did not and that shows the love and mercy he shows humans consistently. Even when they mess
up.
How is the Nature of Jesus Essential to the Christian Worldview?
The nature of Jesus is probably one of the most essential pieces to the Christian
worldview because Christians know him to be their lord and savior and died for their sins. Hence
making it possible for them to keep living and not be punished by death. Many Christians feel as
if they owe him the world for doing such a noble thing to save the entire world.
How is Restoration Essential to the Christian Worldview?
5
Restoration is essential to the Christian worldview because this is the crucial part that
gets a person into heaven and that is what every Christian desires. If a person does not address
their sins or accept Jesus into their heart to become reborn as a result of following the steps of
restoration, then that person will not walk alongside God or reach salvation.
Analysis of the Implications of the Christian Worldview
Benefits and Strengths of the Christian Worldview as it relates to Human Value/Dignity
As part of the Christian worldview, it is understood that the value of humans is derived
from God the creator rather than ourselves. Since all humans are created in the same image as
God, they are all worthy of respect and love (Holland & Diffy, 2022)
.
Not only is value but
strength is empowered by God and without him for either we would be weak.
Comparison of the Christian concept of Salvation to One other Worldview Perspective
Something different about Christian worldview perception is that salvation is not viewed
the same way in about any other religion. Christians are told to believe that salvation is stemmed
from Jesus and Jesus only. Whereas most other religions are a fan of believing in the ability of
finding salvation in oneself. Christian world view believes that humans are broken and unworthy
of salvation but are welcomed the opportunity to get it through faith and Gods endless mercy.
How the Christian Worldview Influences a Person’s Thinking and Behavior
Christian worldview has the ability to influence a person’s thinking and behavior by not
only stating the way that one is supposed to live but by also saying things like humans are broken
and unworthy. Phrases like that can be a very humbling thing to hear. Christians are also taught
to live the way Jesus did and to be selfless and to give their lives for others.

Christianity sometimes gives very hard to hear rules and can be intimidating or make
people turn away from it because of the guidelines
(Schultz, 2018). Christians are asked to put
God before everything, over wants and needs but humans value their pride and being selfish so it
can be a difficult pill to swallow for some. Not only pertaining to the non-Christians but also the
practicing Christians. One of the main ideas in Christianity is that humans are nothing without
Jesus and most people do not want to feel or be told they are powerless or helpless.
Conclusion
No matter what a person decides to believe and trust, worldviews have been helping
humanity learn how to live and what is expected of them. For Christians specifically, it is taught
that humans needed their worldview for the sake of getting to heaven and being with their father
again. Many people find themselves needing a reason for things and often times it is finding the
purpose of life and what to do with it. People can find comfort in coming to God to answers and
guidance of how to live. Some believe that without their worldview, they would be lost. The
gospel essentials that were discussed (The nature of God, Humanity, Jesus, and Restoration) and
these are the same essentials that provide Christians with the understanding of their purpose here
on earth. Christians believed that through Jesus, they will fulfill the purpose of what their creator
put them here for.
