To become a sent everyday missionary, we as Christians need to strongly commit to serve
God, serve others and serve our communities. There is a place for everyone in a church community. There are service opportunities for children’s and/or youth ministry, celebrate recovery or other groups to help your fellow parishioners and small groups for men and women or even Bible study groups. While each of these areas are uniquely different in their own right, they all serve others and allow you to feel great practicing the work of the Lord the best way possible. All of these things have the Gospel of Jesus as the center and all of them will allow us to learn that even as broken people that we can engage in God’s grace and be restored, even in a broken world.
Children and Youth Ministry is the heart of the Christian faith’s future. While parents may have the most impact of children being led to the church to find Jesus, it is the service of those that are called upon to make Children’s and Youth Ministry matter and show them that we need to love one another the way that Jesus loves kids. (Kummer et al., 2020). The childhood life
stage are the ones that are most open to receive the Gospel (Kummer et al., 2020). Not only leading them to the word young, but actually doing things that matter to help them understanding
the word is important. The churches that teach the children what the adults are learning are the most successful because then everyone can discuss what they have learned together after church or group. Teaching children to believe that there is value in every person and that if everyone can
give Hope to their fellow man, then Jesus will change everything. When in need of recovery, it is God’s grace that you seek and will find in those that minister with you in your struggles. Christian codependents that seek theological and psychological help turn to church-based groups that can provide the setting needed to refocus or restructure their belief settings to recover from their behavior (
Riordan & Simone, 1993). In a
scripture incorporated environment that provided a safe place among fellow struggling Christians
in a community surrounded by faith, healing miracles can take place every day (Riordan & Simone, 1993). Originally began as AA and other assisted groups, Celebrate Recovery is a biblical recovery group that incorporates Principles and Bible verses that allow you to become one with God by turning everything over to Him. From there, it is imperative to work your principles and repent, forgive and ask for forgiveness and then lead by example. It is important to
know that you are not alone when you struggle to find Jesus in the darkest of times. Attending a small group focused on Bible study is essential when being discipled or mentored spiritually and is proven to increase spiritual growth and can even help the non-
believers follow Christ. Praying for others and confessing sins to God are two very positive things that can come out of church small group members, meaning that group matters (Stetzer, 2021). Study and small groups provide a comfortable connecting environment that applies God’s truth to life and helps us experience real life change. This is why it is pertinent that small groups multiply and reproduce so more can experience the word of God (Stetzer, 2021). It is not always possible that everyone can get to church and get to a small group regularly. To help with this truth, if a group can get on the same page by having the same Bible readings or the same focus discussion, there are many ways to get the communication across; text groups, Facebook groups, virtual groups such as Zoom and any other outlets that can incorporate unity and God’s grace. Everyone has a calling to Christ in their own right and that can be through ministry of children and youth, joining in a recovery group, or leading a bible study or small group. There is so much beyond just going to church. Providing service to the Lord through Children and Youth Ministry is detrimental in the future of the church of generations to come. Helping others and yourself at the same time allows a community of support to help one another in their struggles
