Describe your experience:
Provide a thoughtful reflection of your experience. What gospel principle from this week’s lesson did
you teach? Include specific quotes or references to scripture or prophetic teachings that you used.
How did it go? How did you feel while teaching and afterward? What reaction or feedback did you
receive?
What teaching methods did you use (thought-provoking question, discussion, game, object lesson,
video, other method)?
During this week, I learned that
members of the Church living today play a big role in clearly understanding
what took place when the Savior visited the spirit world during the days prior to His Resurrection. I learned
that church members today can contribute to the work before our now lives are over. They can help us
understand that the gospel is being preached and that working at the temple is one way we can support this.
I also learned in Alma 32:8, that we must believe in Jesus Christ for us to know that He is the Savior. We
must make this decision if we want to be saved in heaven after death.
The discussion went well, and I
got great feedback from my grandma about how knowing about the afterlife can help
strengthen our testimony.
Describe the insights you gained:
What did you learn from this experience about being a teacher of the gospel?
What deeper insights or understanding of the principle(s) being taught did you gain from teaching
the principle(s) to another person?
My testimony was strengthened and deepened as I learned about life after death in contrast to
that
repentance was made possible by the Savior’s demonstration of faith and acceptance of Jesus as the Son of
God. Also, I find that as I am teaching someone, I can understand what I learned during the week better and
I am more able to retain the information.
