WILL SOME CHRISTIANS BE IN HELL?
Quick Answer:
Will some Christians be in hell? No, Hell is a place for fallen
angels and those who have rejected the Gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:9;
Matthew 25:41, Revelation 14:10). Christians are already raised and seated
in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6) and nothing separates us
from the love of Christ (Romans 8:38-39).
Diving Deeper:
Recently, some authors and speakers have claimed to have
near-death experiences and to have seen Christians in Hell. But Scripture is
clear that Christians have been completely forgiven and made righteous to
the core of their beings (2 Corinthians 5:21; Ezekiel 36:26-27). We have
passed from death to life (John 5:24), and from judgment to freedom
(Romans 8:1; John 5:24; John 6:47).
Hell is a place reserved for those who have rejected the Gospel (2
Thessalonians 1:9; John 3:36; Revelation 14:10). Because we are God’s
children (1 John 3:1), we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus
(Ephesians 2:6), and we will be with God forever.
Let’s Make It a Conversation!
1. Have you heard of people having near-death experiences and then
claiming they saw Christians in Hell? Has this disturbed you? If so, how?
2. Should we build our beliefs systems on the dreams and experiences of
others? Why or why not? If not, then what should we build them on?
3. How does the believer’s total forgiveness (Hebrews 10:14) and their
already being seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6) factor in here?
