DISCUSSION BOARD FORUM 1: WHY ARE YOU HERE?
Hello Dr. Brett Dutton, and class: My name is Ora Wilson, and I am here in this class to further my knowledge of the Church Ministry so I can further help and lead God’s people in the right direction with the proper knowledge, how else can I fulfill what God has set before me on the Christian journey other than to study and meditate day and night on His word and promises? With all the troubles and plagues upon our land of the living today, and to be able to endure any pain and suffering, trouble, problems, heartache, death, crime, and violence in the world today, we must have faith, trust, and believe in God and fellowship with the Church Ministry. My mother instilled that strength in me when I had problems growing up in life and marriage domestic violence and adultery ruined my marriage of 10 years of hell but held on hoping and praying that one day he would love me and the children and be a good husband and father. My mother told me when I was hurting and depressed to remember Job in the Bible and all his pain and suffering and how he trusted God and did not curse God and die, he believed God would show up and show out and god did just that. But Job had to experience the great loss of 10 children, and all his animals and his body started rotting, his wife even told him to give up and curse God and die. Job told his wife she sounded like a foolish woman. Although concerns the Old Testament or Christian knowledge, that has helped me deal with many troubles in my life. As a faithful church servant, my mother took me to church every Sunday morning we had Sunday school and then morning worship with the congregation, preaching, learning, and singing, we all came together and united as one.
I am studying for a master’s degree in Christian Leadership, I have a ministry that I operate feeding and clothing the homeless and those standing in need of a blessing. God’s Anointed One’s Outreach Ministry LLC, is located here in a little town outside of Birmingham, Alabama called Brighton, Alabama. I pray and hope to help many throughout this journey God has set forth for me. Matthew 11:28-30, tells us, Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and My burden is light.
Jesus tells us His yoke is easy. His teaching was in full contrast to the religious rabbis of the day. He was not offering a complicated and long set of rules, rituals, and regulations. He was offering grace. He was offering a simple relationship with God.

DISCUSSION BOARD FORUM 1: What is a biblical definition of success in ministry?
When we decide to follow Jesus fully and completely, we deny ourselves and our selfish ways, to
learn of Him and His ways for the path and the way we should go and the life we shall live. God explains this to us below in Psalm 25:1-5.
Psalm 25:1-5 To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul.
O my God, in You I trust, Do not let me be ashamed; Do not let my enemies exult over me.
Indeed, none of those who wait for You will be ashamed; Those who deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed.
Make me know Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths.
Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the God of my salvation; For You I wait all the day.
However, success means walking in the Lord’s way, from the God’s perspective. We already know that God ways are higher than ours, so “What does the Lord our God expect from us, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all our heart and with all your soul?” we read this in, Deuteronomy 10:12
, the Bible asks us.
Every day, God gives us the opportunity to trust, obey, and follow our Father As the Holy Spirit reveals God’s heart to us. We know that there are many advantages, promises kept meaning blessings, granted grace, favor, and mercy when walking in His way, still so afar pleasing Him.
Jerimiah 29:13, tells us, `You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. We must develop a closer relationship with the Lord, first. Then we must secure a strong prayer life, second. It is so important that we begin to see things from His perspective, third. Now, this is so hard for many of us to do, but we must endure more patience and find it trouble-
free to wait for His timing, fourth. However, when we face danger and trouble, we are gradually stable and steadfast, Fifth. Lastly, if we influence others, all the benefits listed above will be a witness and proof to those around us.
So, why not ask God to show you today one new way you can love Him or serve Him more wholeheartedly? While reading Deuteronomy 10:12
again, this time as a prayer.

Hello Neal, I pray this response finds you in the best health and strength during these perilous times we are facing in these last evil days we experience every day. I do appreciate your response
when you stated: You said, “However, success means walking in the Lord’s way, from God’s perspective.” I agree with this statement wholeheartedly! A successful minister is one who
is faithful to Christ and faithfully exercises his or her spiritual gifts regardless of how people respond.
I agree with you, not only should we follow God’s instructions for our ministries and trust and have faith in His Son Jesus Christ. We must also follow God’s instructions and follow the path that He has already set before us, this journey we are on was made for us long before we were formed in our mother's womb. As a sinner, I have learned throughout my life so far that my life is
not my own, to You I belong, I give myself to You Lord wholeheartedly, with all my mind, heart, body, and soul. I haven't always wanted to live a life that was pleasing to the Lord, and I fail every day, but I get back up and try and try again until I get it right, we fall down but we get back
up, keep pushing and keep moving forward. So the key to a successful life, ministry, parent, even
on your job, in our homes and neighborhoods and communities we must follow Jesus and the Father’s instructions for us, and they are not to harm us but to save us and draw us closer to God.
I have a ministry feeding and clothing the homeless and those standing in need throughout communities in Birmingham, Alabama. I love my ministry and its purpose to show that I am just a servant of God and to God be the Glory of my ministry and not myself be glorified in helping His people. This is what we should do anyway help one another for the love of God, that He first loved us and gave His only begotten Son to die for all our sins, that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.
Hello Lenard, I like your response when you stated: Success means walking in the Lord's ways, Sis Wilson you couldn't have said it any better however, that seems to be the daily struggle that the world faces on a daily basis. Being Obedient to God's word is challenging from all walks of life because I struggle with the flesh. My spirit is willing, oh but my flesh is weak. The demands, desires, and fears of human nature often pull into areas I normally would be in.
I agree with you that walking with Jesus and following God requires and demands us to live a holy life that is pleasing to God our Father, Savior, Healer, Redeemer, Provider, and Protector, and I can go on and on about the Lord, and all He wants is us to trust and obey Him and follow His Son Jesus. And yes it is a struggle for so many today, but not for me I have a made-up mind to follow Jesus. My fear is not of this world and whatever is going on because God is still in control, we just have to stay saved trust, and obey God all we need is the faith the size of a mustard seed to please God. Resist temptation and the devil is the creator of evil and he will flee.
I found out throughout this Christian life it was harder for me when I was trying to please the world and to be able to wake up every day with all my health strength and life in abundance of the Lord my soul cries out Hallelujah Thank You, Jesus. Yes, the flesh is weak, but God has given us the power to overcome evil and the works of evildoers, we just have a desire to do whatever it is that we want to do. Paul said that he knew the good to do that he didn’t do, but the evil he did. God says when we are weak we are strong, and He never puts more on us than we can bear. I can talk about the Lord all day. He is my favorite subject and the joy of my life. This joy that I have the world didn't give it to me and the world can’t take it away.

DISCUSSION BOARD FORUM 2:
Agree or Disagree: Expository preaching through books of the Bible is the best way to approach preaching/teaching ministry.
I absolutely agree. First of all, this way of preaching and teaching is nothing new but has been around for many years even when I was a child and before me, Jesus Himself preached and taught throughout the Bible and throughout the Books of the Bible. We studied books in Sunday school, Bible study, and even in our homes and schools we read, meditate, study, learn of God , keep His commandments, trust, and obey Him and grow spiritually. However, all through church history at least the churches that love the Bible and are filled with spiritually mature believers has been tested and proven as a piece of advice. And a guide to following Jesus. Now, this is what several people call expositional preaching, when we have discussion concerning preaching through books of the Bible. We read in their given context and turn over the divine truths in the course of time to find what they bring about for us today, the word exposition means to lift out of
the text the meaning of the original author. We need to learn how we are to respond to it today and find out the true meaning of what the bible teaches, which is the most important Books of all
learning, when you really want to know how God expects us to live a Holy Spirit filled life that is pleasing to Him. Expositional preaching happens to be most beneficial in that style of preaching because it takes the whole book into details and helps those who read and learn it understand it in an open-
minded and advance way, therefore it is not limited to studies through books. Allowing the hearers to understand the big picture of not just the book, but the bible, this is what expositional preaching is all about. Why I Preach Through Books of the Bible

DISCUSSION BOARD FORUM 3: What are the essentials of the Gospel that must be believed for a person to become a Christian? Biblically justify your answer.
Simply by disciple-making, evangelizing, and training others to do the same, is what sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about. However, one of our most important callings as a follower of Jesus, is sharing and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe in the power of biblical truth to change lives, also in the power of the Gospel to save sinners like you and me. Just like in
the parable of the Sower in Luke 8, we are dedicated and committed to sharing the Gospel of Jesus with as many as we can. Therefore, falling on good soil, it is our desire, faith, hope, and prayer that this happens as we share the Gospel of truth.
Discipleship
We read in Matt 28:19-20, that from all nations Jesus commands us to go and make disciples. As disciples of God and Christ Jesus we are expected to help equip everyone that we possibly can toward spiritual growth and maturity, we are committed and held accountable to teaching new believers the Word of God. When we dedicate our life to Jesus Christ and agree to follow His teaching and way of living a holy and righteous life through individual one-on-one meetings, Bible group study, and event meetings, this is when the discipleship happens.
Training
We are committed to training followers of Christ in various skills to present and communicate the gospel in culturally effective ways based on our years of ministry experience in Israel. Jesus tells us in Mark 1:17: “Come, follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will make you fishers of men.” So, we train the believers to share their witness to God’s divine power and blessings us even when we do not deserve is grace, mercy, and favor through testimony, to share the gospel, and to lead others to Christ. Jesus called us to be “fishers of men.” Mustard Seed And The Kingdom Of God
Now, believers know that it is impossible to please God without faith, meaning we needs faith, obedience, prayer, and patience, which makes this process of building God’s kingdom very simple. I know and believe, and I pray that many come to know that God is the king of Kings, His kingdom is not about power and control but love and grace. As amateurs and followers of Christ Jesus, however, the shock is almost hidden in our minds, actions, and obedience, for it is in our human nature to resist the power of God before we submit fully and completely.

Hello Alfred, praying that this response finds you in the best of health, I truly enjoyed your response when you said
: I believe that God's word is life-changing therefore I agree that Expository preaching through books of the Bible is the best way to approach preaching/teaching ministry. It is funny you said that statement, I use to thing when a preacher was preaching a sermon that they didn’t know enough about God in their hearts when they had notes and their sermon wrote out on paper. I figure you could preach without notes and a plan wrote out sermon. But now as I have grown as a Christian and has studied the Bible and God’s way for us to live, it requires us to
study and meditate on His word day and night. I found out it is good when you have expository preaching, it shows you have studied and meditated on what you are preaching or teaching and not just running off at the mouth about what you think. We must be about our Father business. I believe now if you do not have notes and study the word of God and find the right books, videos,
or even get advice from a well-known source will be helpful.
Hello Neal, praying that this response finds you in the best of health, I truly enjoyed your response when you said
:
Expository preaching is preferred because it helps the preacher and
hearers recognize God’s unfolding plan of redemption throughout the biblical text. Preaching through books of the Bible allows a preacher to look at the unique contributions of each author and connect those contributions to wider themes found in the rest of Scripture. Expository preaching in this manner invites a congregation to participate with God in what he is doing in the world. I absolutely agree with you, it is preferred and recommended I believe by many Believers all over the world, take for instance, I love studying from the Our Daily Bread devotional books, they inspired me and gives me much encouragement. It has real life stories and one of the main Authors was C. L. Lewis. Now I love studying the Bible which is the ultimate and most important Book of all books when you desire to learn straight from God’s mouth and never-
failing words that will never come back void. My husband and I study the Bible and devotional books a lot, because we know that a family that prays together stays together. I listen to T. D Jakes, Joel Osteen, Joyce Myers, they really teach the word of God, and each of them has their own unique way of teaching and preaching. I especially like Joyce and Joel; they both know what to say and how to help you to understand god’s way and not their own.
Hello Neal, thank you for your response, I really enjoyed reading it, and I will do my best to answer your question. How would you define the gospel? What do people have to believe about Jesus to start the journey of discipleship? I would be interested to hear your answers to these questions.
You also responded: Growing up, I was under the impression that the gospel was a set of verses one had to work through to come to faith in Christ.
Which is easy for me because I love discussing and talking about Jesus the one who was sinless came and died for you and me to live a Holy life that is pleasing to Him and our Father in Heaven. How would you define the gospel?
Speaking from my relationship and experience throughout my childhood and life as an adult, I know I get excited every time I think about the love and hope in Jesus Christ, it is more precious to me than silver and gold or anything in this old cruel and evil world we live in today has to offer! In my life since I was baptized at the age of 12 and received the Holy Spirit, and to this day I was the greatest decision I could have ever made in my life. In this fallen world today without Jesus on my side where would I be if He had not died for my sins. Everything I do and have become is because of Jesus Christ, without Jesus I am nothing and can do nothing, Jesus is the center of my life in everything I do, accomplish, and believe. Growing up for me, I was raised in a Christian home and environment, my mother was the drive and force in our home, my
daddy just went along with everything because he trusted her decision as she was a true woman of God, that lady live for God not just on Sunday but every day. I went to Sunday school and church on Sunday, Bible study on Wednesday’s, choir practice on Saturday evening. So, I learned
as a child that Jesus was the way the truth and the life of my life. Jesus rescued me from an abusive marriage for 10 years, I tried to kill myself again He rescued me from suicide, car accidents, and I can go on and on Neal, you see, it would take a lifetime for me to tell it all, and all of the goodness of Jesus Christ who is the head of my life in all I do, I put Him first.
