31 January 2022 Brother Courtney Hill W05 Directed Study: Option 5 In what ways do the Creation, the Fall, and the Atonement interrelate? The Creation, The Fall, and the Atonement interrelate by not being able to begin without the ending of the other. The Creation was the birth of mankind, where man was created in the image of God and woman was created from the rib of the man. The Fall was initiated by a choice that allowed all of mankind to come here to earth and experience life and its adversities. The Atonement was created so that the Children of God could choose for themselves if they want to walk along the covenant path. These three conditions could not begin without the other, they followed the plan that Heavenly Father wanted them to experience in order to understand the circumstances a Child of God has to endure in order to receive eternal life. I think the huge price we had to pay in order to receive the ultimate prize in the end is well worth the wait and anticipation. What can we learn about the tactics of Satan from the phrase “the sleep of hell”? (2 Nephi 1:13) Lehi is referring to the spiritual chains we put on ourselves as we sin. These chains we put on ourselves bind us and weigh us down from retuning or having faith in ourselves and alongside the Lord. What is the relationship between the trials, adversity, and afflictions we encounter, and what our Heavenly Father knows we can become? (See 2 Nephi 2:2.) For me, the relationship between all the hardships we encounter and the love our Heavenly Father has for us and for Him to know who we can become through those hardships is truly astounding to know. To know that I have someone that has so much faith and trust in me to get through the hardships here during my lifetime and that He has no control over tells me how much He loves and believes in me. I know that the hardships we face in this life help us become who He knows that we promised Him we would become before we came here to earth. To know that we made so many promises and commitments that we are unaware of now shows another level of that faith and trust He has in us as His children.
