Sunday Worship Interview Sunday worship is time we come together to encourage one another as it has been talked about in the book of Acts. The purpose of worship is to exalt God by putting our focus on him when we worship God we remove our eyes and minds from our own problems. To recognize the greatness of our God. As some churches have different Sunday worships I had the opportunity to talk with Pastor June Bair from Zion Lutheran Church in Womelsdorf pa and Pastor Mike Snedeker from Community Evangelical Church in Sinking Spring pa. As I was looking at the notes taken from each interview I noticed that both pastor June and Pastor Mike have the same reasoning for their Sunday worship and that’s the presence of God during Sunday worship. The time spent on a sermon series and worship all together differs Pastor Mike explained to me that he takes an entire week to prepare a sermon as Pastor June spends 4 to 5 hours reading
into scripture and asking God what should be said during worship. Although they might have different ways of preparing Sunday worship both Pastors rely on God’s word to speak to them while preparing. I attend Community Evangelical Church every Sunday our worship begins with songs, prayers, and a sermon. When I spoke with Pastor Mike he mentioned that music is a huge part of Sunday worship he explained that Sunday worship with the music and sermon is to help us enter into the word of God. The rationale for the procedure is making sure the Holy Spirit is present during the planning. While looking more into both interviews Sunday worship between both I came to notice that music is more involved in the evangelical service as for the Lutheran service

its more for the scriptures and the word of God. The Pastor’s book pointed out “As Christians we
must center our worship on Christ as the temple.” (page 27) As I continued the interviews Pastor Mike gave me some more insight of Sunday worship
for Community Evangelical Church. The question “What Biblical basis do they have for their procedure?” Pastor Mike mentioned Acts 2 teaching and encouraging one another to enter into the word of God. After the interview I opened my bible to Acts 2 to dig a little deeper into scripture Acts 2: 42-47: “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper[i]), and to prayer. A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. And
all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity[j]— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.” This passage stuck to me not only because it’s how worship is supposed to be like but it’s a self-reminder that Christ is and should be the center of every Sunday worship. Why do we gather on Sundays? Something I’ve always wondered growing up I used to think because it’s the last day of the week so we gather together to worship our God. To clear our hearts and minds from our own struggles and sins as I began to read more into Sunday worship. Sunday worship is
a significant practice within the Christian community. Even though the aspects and structure of the worship service varies between each domination they all expresses and acknowledge the

beliefs and values of Christianity and is a time for communal worship.Catholics have mass performed by an ordained male priest, Orthodox have Divine Liturgy performed by an ordained male priest and protestants have mass that may be performed by either an ordained male or female priest. However, the common aspect of their services is that they provide adherents with the opportunity to connect with god, to reflect personally and on ethical direction, but also to feel
a sense of community. During the worship services the belief of the humanity and divinity of Jesus Christ is expressed. Through the Liturgy of the Word, which are biblical reading from the Psalms, The New Testament and Gospels the life, healing and miracles performed by Jesus Christ are revealed. This allows adherents to learn the history and appreciate the pain and suffering that Jesus had experienced so that humanity could survive. Furthermore, through the Word and confirm the Christian belief that all things existed in and through God as “through him,
all things were made, without him nothing was made that has been made”. At the same time, this evangelization entails acting on behalf of the growth within the society of the gospel values which Jesus taught and which lead to human fulfillment in dignity, communion and freedom. Sunday worship is a time when we gather together to worship our Lord and Savior no matter what domination we are a part of when the Holy Spirit is present within the scriptures, music and the sermon itself I believe that the Sunday Worship is more intimate and draws us closer to God just as he desires from us.
Pastors June Bair and Mike Snedeker have very unique ways of preparing for a Sunday worship. The one thing I did notice while interviewing both Pastors the connection they had with
God as they were speaking. The way we worship is very known by God and to have a connection
like both Pastors means that Sunday Worship is spoken from our God. I enjoyed speaking to
