Article of Faith Please identify the Article of Faith studied this week Response: We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost 3. The first scripture that helped me to better understand the Article of Faith this week was in D&C 138. This chapter helped me to understand that our Savior Jesus Christ is the center of this gospel. It did this by laying out the blessings of following the gospel and highlighting that it is all because of the Atonement. In this I learned that our faith in Jesus Christ is so vital if we want to follow the rest of the Gospel. Our faith is our foundation. The next scripture that stuck out to me this week was 2 Nephi 31. This has always been a go to for me if I am studying up on the principles of the gospel so I read over it again this week. I just like that it goes through each principle and helps you to understand how important each is for your exaltation. The last scripture I want to mention is in 3 Nephi 27:16- 17. These verses really taught me of the importance of enduring to the end. I think we could follow the gospel our whole lives but if we don’t endure all the way to the end then we will be held accountable. I really enjoy that it says we will. Be held guiltless if we endure to the end. Word Count:218 4. Synthesis: Personal Relevance and Application to the Real World There are many serious challenges people encounter on a daily basis that are consequences of living in a fallen world. The gospel truths taught in the Articles of Faith have tremendous power to help people find answers, rise above problems, or simply feel God's love and concern for them again. Each week you will choose an issue (below) and think deeply about how the truths in that week’s Article of Faith can offer hope to those who are experiencing the problem.
