2 Old Testament Storyboard Part One  After reading Genesis 1-3, list out the ways these chapters introduce the biblical narrative for the following categories. For each category, the student should include several robust sentences that are focused on the text. One- word or sparse answers will not suffice.  What do we learn about: God: Created the world out of a dark nothingness. He created heavens and earth. He created creatures of the land and air. He created night and day. After each creation, he saw that it was good. Humans: God blessed them and said to them,   “Be fruitful and increase in number;   fill the earth   and subdue it. Rule over   the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” (Genesis 1:28, NIV) How humans interact: God created man in his image, so that they could rule over all the creatures he created. God first created Adam, but decided he was not made to be alone, so he created Eve out of Adam’s rib. Eve, with the help of the serpent. convinced Adam to eat the forbidden fruit.
3 The World: God created the world in six days and on the seventh day he rested and celebrated all of his creations. The way creation reacts with the Creator: After partaking of the forbidden fruit, Adam and Eve felt ashamed that they were naked. Their disobedience caused them to hide from God because after eating the fruit they realized they were naked and no longer clothed in God’s light. The problem with sin: And he said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?” The man said, “The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.” Then the L ORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” (Genesis 11-13, NIV) The solution for sin: So the L ORD God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all livestock and all wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your
