Session 1 Questions
1.
What does the word “Christian” mean in the university’s name – Colorado Christian University? (Hint: Review the Biblical Perspective
for the week)
Reading the Biblical Perspective for this week, I learned the word “Christian” in the university’s name- Colorado Christian University means “evangelical.” I learned the following: “1) “evangelical” is a sub-group of orthodox Christianity (which is a subset of “Christian”), 2) CCU is evangelical, and 3) “evangelical” can be defined well by four concepts.” (Session 1 Biblical Perspective, 2023)
2.
How does this meaning impact your view of your education here at CCU?
The meaning truly impacts my view of education here at CCU in a positive and inspiring way. Returning to college 18 years later, I did not just want to return to any school for my degree, but also a school where I could grow my faith stronger with the Lord as well. I wanted to be able to integrate my faith within my courses. I value CCU’s strategic priorities, especially these:
Honor Christ and share the love of Christ on campus and around the world.
Teach students to trust the Bible, live holy lives, and be evangelists.
Give students significant opportunities to serve our Lord while they are at CCU and to help them develop a lifetime habit of such service.
Be seekers of truth
Ask God to multiply our time and ability to the glory of His great name.
Be a servant of the Church.
