Hypnobirthing is a birthing method that uses self-hypnosis and relaxation techniques to help a woman feel prepared, narrow her focus, and reduce her awareness of fear, anxiety and pain during childbirth. A C-section, or cesarean section, is the delivery of a baby through a surgical incision in the mother 's abdomen and uterus. In certain circumstances, a C-section is scheduled in advance. In others, it 's done in response to an unforeseen complication. I believe that any one of these methods is a great method because it allows for a baby to be born. I also believe that carrying a baby has it risk. When it was my decision to have my children I choose a cesarean section, because I was not able to dilate to 10 centimeters. When a woman gets complications with her pregnancy the only thing that mother is thinking about is her unborn baby. I woman can take all the classes she wants and do all the hydrotherapy she needs. Hydrotherapy is a form of water birthing. The mother sits in a small pool and gives birth in the water. Mother say, that water birthing is relaxing and eases the contracting. In my opinion I feel that god and the baby knows how he or she will come out. I believe that a mother will do what works with the time come. I do feel that you cannot be a 100% ready when the time come to have you child. There can be some many things that can go wrong that can put you and your baby at risk. I do think that most of these classes are their just to make money. My first experience
The Orthodox Jewish women must consult with their Rabbi for approval of procedures or treatments; amniocentesis or elective cesarean sections. In such cases Orthodox Jewish couples may call their rabbi to ask for guidance on the subject or to get a blessing from him that all will go well. This would not be done in medical emergencies, such as a cesarean section for fetal distress or for inductions for medically indicated reasons (Abdelhak 2005). In the Orthodox Jewish community they believe in "Be fruitful and multiply". It is Gods will how many children she will have, in this case the woman will avoid ever having a cesarean section as it can limit the amount of children she can have and she will not be able to fulfill Gods will.
Four years later, I got pregnant. I was nervous, scared and anxious. The doctor I saw said that I could have a VBAC(vaginal birth after c-section). I raided the library and read books on that subject. It was then I found out that the United States had the highest incidence of C-sections in the world. Research shows that epidurals increase the use of other interventions that themselves carry risks. These interventions include electronic fetal monitoring (which has shown to increase the likelihood of a cesarean without improving outcome), I. V oxytocin, and instrumental delivery. Epidurals also deprive women of a sense of mastery over labor. Goer, Henci. "Epidurals Myth Vs Reality." Childbirth Instructor Magazine Winter 1995: 17-22
There has been a steady increase in the use of hypnotherapy and other relaxation techniques in the birthing process in recent years. Multiple research studies have been completed in western countries to assess the effectiveness of hypnosis training on various aspects of child birth, including length of labor, need for surgical intervention, use of pain medication, experienced levels of fear and anxiety, and occurrences of post-partum depression (Philips-Moore, 2012). There are different forms of hypnosis presented throughout the studies that will be reviewed in this article, including self-hypnosis techniques, imagery, hypnotherapy and the process of HypnoBirthing.
Over the years birthing methods have changed a great deal. When technology wasn’t so advanced there was only one method of giving birth, vaginally non-medicated. However, in today’s society there are now more than one method of giving birth. In fact, there are three methods: Non-medicated vaginal delivery, medicated vaginal delivery and cesarean delivery, also known as c-section. In the cesarean delivery there is not much to prepare for before the operation, except maybe the procedure of the operation. A few things that will be discussed are: the process of cesarean delivery, reasons for this birthing method and a few reasons for why this birthing method is used. Also a question that many women have is whether or not they can vaginally
In this week’s response we are given the choice to choose to respond on the topic about a type of “non-traditional” childbirth (i.e. hospital) of our choice that we would want to know more about and “What we learn before we’re born” from TED talk by Annie Murphy Paul . This week I am choosing to respond to a type of “non-traditional” childbirth (i.e. hospital). The type of childbirth I chose to talk about is a water birth. As interesting as this topic may be and all of the possible childbirths there are this stood out for me because I believe that it is amazing that a child can be born in a little pool.
Dessie, In my opinion, the medicated route would be the best because if you have to have an emergency c-section, then they would not have to put you asleep. When I had my emergency c-section, I wanted to be awake to make sure I heard my son cry. At that time, it was very scary because I did not know what to expect. So, therefore, I would rather have a medicated childbirth based on my experience.
Cesarean births have been on the rise over the last decade and are associated more with failed inductions than with medical necessity. C-sections are associated with more short and long term complications for mother and baby. By promoting a pregnant woman to opt out of inductions before 40-42 weeks and educating about vaginal birth after cesarean section, the United States can drop the number of cesarean sections performed.
According to “Human Sexuality: Diversity in Contemporary America,” women and couples planning the birth of a child have decisions to make in variety of areas: place of birth, birth attendant(s), medication, preparedness classes, circumcision, breast feeding, etc. The “childbirth market” has responded to consumer concerns, so its’ important for prospective consumers to fully understand their options. With that being said, a woman has the choice to birth her child either at a hospital or at home. There are several differences when it comes to hospital births and non-hospital births.
Not too long ago, the term Cesarean Section would strike fear into the heart's of expecting mothers because of the number of risks involved with the surgery and not to mention the ghastly scar it leaves behind. Today, however, physicians give their patients the option to go through with natural delivery or chose a natural delivery. This may be due to the increase in celebrity trends or because women are having babies later in life and advanced maternal age comes into play when making the decision. Regardless of the increase of this type of delivery, one thing remains true, it is surgery and the
With all that said, I'm sure your wondering what Hypnobabies® is? Hypnobabies® Is a childbirth education class that one can take either at-home for 5 weeks or in a 6 week class. This course is designed to teach you everything you will need to make the empowering choices in during childbirth (interventions, pain management, relaxation techquies....ect..). It will also give you the basic understand of breastfeeding, and the risks involved with some choices you will have to make in childbirth. When doing the class one will not need to take any other childbirth classes, in fact, taking another class is detrimental and may cause issues in you reaching your full hypnosis state (I will talk more about that soon!). Along with teaching you the steps
After reading the articles and the book and watching the videos I have change how I see a midwife. I never really knew what exactly they were able or prepare to do and now I feel like they are very prepare to help with the delivery of a baby. I always thought that doctors were more prepare that it was too risky to have a birth at home and with a midwife. But now I learn that that’s not always the case. Am the mother of two kids and my plan was always to have them in a hospital with the best doctors that I could find, I wanted my kids to be born in a safe environment and with people that knew what to do in case of an emergency. When I first was pregnant with my fist, I actually search the whole water birth with a midwife and I was surprise that people had an option to have kids in that environment, I though it was very interesting but I didn’t felt that it was for me.
Caesarean delivery is the method by which a baby is born through an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus. Statistics show that 166,081 caesarean deliveries were carried out within NHS hospitals in England during 2013/2014, of which 50% were elective. This represents a 2.5% rise over the previous year, continuing the trend of increasing elective caesarean rates (Health & Social Care Information Centre, 2015). Indications for a caesarean section (CS) can include foetal distress, previous CS, breech presentation, abnormal progress during labour, etc. (Vacca, 2013).
The options for relieving these discomforts may be divided into six general types positive conditioning” (p.242). The Lamaze method is one of those six types of positive conditioning. Priscilla Ulin (1963) says “the unprepared mother who attempts labor without sedation and anesthesia is likely to experience frustration and severe pain. However, practitioners of the method developed by Ferdinand Lamaze have discovered that, with adequate preparation, the patient can control her reception of sensory stimuli to the extent that during labor she has little or no pain” (p. 60). I have heard of women using the Lamaze method and found it helpful to anticipate how they wanted the birth to feel. I find it interesting that the pain experienced in birth does not have to be unbearable. In 1977, Norr, Block, Charles, Meyering, and Meyers interviewed 249 women who had recently delivered and says “38% of our sample attended at least 5 Lamaze classes” (p.261). Most women are scared to give birth because they have heard numerous stories from other women just how painful it could be. Everyone in the world has a different pain tolerance and should be treated differently. I believe Lamaze is an excellent method of childbirth for those women who fear the pain from giving birth. It will condition
Giving birth is something that happens many times daily all over the world. Though many people who have not experienced giving birth, such as men, may think all the woman has to do is push a couple times and it's over, that is not the case. There are three stages to giving birth according to BabyCentre including contractions, pushing, and delivering the placenta.
Cesarean deliveries are performed for many different reasons today with 33% of women experiencing one. (Michele Davidson, 2012) Many important factors play a role in the post-operative client who undergoes a C-section. It is important not only to treat her as a post-operative patient but also as a new mother. “The nurse should focus on maternal comfort, safety of the mother and newborn, and prevention of post-operative complications.” (Michele Davidson, 2012) The mother should start bonding with her baby as soon as possible; same as the mother who delivers vaginally. (Carol Roberts, 2009) The nurse should teach the mother about the importance of newborn attachment and that there should be no guilt felt if she could not deliver vaginally. (Carol
