Managers must lead change. for change to happen in a company a manger must be an effective leader to make the change run smoothly. They must establish a sense of urgency, set stretch goals, making the problems aware to the employees and not sugar coating the failure with in the organization. A manager could have data backing up the weaknesses of the company. For example, by directly contacting unhappy customers. After this first step is established we move on to creating the guiding coalition. For this step it requires a team of leaders in power to take the information the company has too grow. I’m the manager of Starfish Café, I have noticed a lot of our customers have made comments on our products on yelp. The customers are saying that our coffee taste like dirt, our cups are crappy. The first steps I took is gathering my employees to talk about our yelp reviews. Asking them how can we do better. I inform my employees we are losing customers because our products are not well liked, change needs to happen and fast. On the search for change I put together a group of people that can help me with the quality of my coffee and cups. With their help I can search for new coffee suppliers and as well for good cup quality. With our new-found ideas and connections, I take my vision and present it to my employees. I explain to them we will be having training on coffee brewing and tasting coffee to make sure we are giving our customers excellent quality coffee. I encourage my employees for honest feedback on how we can sell our products and get our customers back, and new ones as well. I give my employees opportunity to devise a new way we can promote our new coffee. We made posters, fliers, posted it in the paper and put signs outside and inside our stores. We even had coffee samples running all day. To help employees stay motivated on the success with the company, I devised a sales tactic, each person to sell 20 large cups a day gets rewarded. This tactic helps our sales rocket.
