The Interdependence of plants, animals, and humans is integral in the Amazon Rainforest ecosystem of the tropical rainforest biome. The key features of the Amazon Rainforest is the Amazon River. The Amazon Rainforest goes through Brazil, Peru, Colombia, and many other countries. Colombia has 10%, Brazil has 60%, and Peru has 13%. 80-90 degrees during the day and 50 degrees at night is the temperature of the Amazon Rainforest. There are dry and wet seasons. it gets 9 to 10 feet of rain a year. The terrain is in the Amazon Rainforest are rocky mountains, wetlands , plains, valleys, rivers, streams, and highlands. The dirt is poor with very few nutrients and it is very muddy. It is also dense with trees and rotting logs. The thin topsoils, made of decaying vegetable and animal parts, take up all the nutrients. In the Amazon Rainforest there 's the Congo River, the Rio Negro, and the Amazon River.
The plant that has adapted to the Amazon Rainforest is the pitcher plant. The sides of the plant are slippery causing its prey to fall in. Since the plant’s flowers look like meat, flies like to come to the pitcher plant. The plant 's enzymes digest the meal and the plant is then able to absorb the nutrients. These adaptations help the plant to live because its’ food is the bug’s nutrients that got absorbed. The giant lily pad has adapted to the Amazon Rainforest. The Amazon forest occupies a relevant place on the international scene and its importance is recognized worldwide. The goal of this paper is to present general information about the Amazon area, showing the biodiversity and the environmental, social, and economic impact in exploring that area. This paper will also emphasize what are the values of that ecosystem to the world, explaining about several natural resources, fauna, and flora in the Amazon forest. The author supported his arguments on articles and books that are in the reference. As a result, the author provides an overview and some important details about that area, bringing arguments and evidences to show why is important take care of the Amazon forest.
As a result of deforestation and other causes, as few as 10,000 species go extinct every year, with a multitude lost in the rainforests across the world. The Amazon Rainforest, the largest rainforest in the world, houses roughly, “40,000 plant species, 427 mammals, 1,300 birds, 378 reptiles, and around 3,000 freshwater fish,” as well as more than 100,000 of invertebrate species (Amazon Wildlife). The rapid loss of the Amazon rainforest, precisely 17% in the last fifty years, critically cripples the biodiversity of the rainforest. To explain, every vehicle that destroys any sort of foliage is a loss to the animals that live in the forest. Rainforests are known to be critically important for human wellbeing and are often referred to as the lungs of the planet. This is because, rainforests not only absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen that all animals depend on for survival but due to the fact they also help stabilize climate, provide a home to many plants and animals, maintain the water cycle, protect the human population against flood, drought & erosion, and are a source for medicines and foods. Rainforest also happen to support tribal people and are known to be an interesting place to visit. Abiotic factors are referred to as non-living chemical and physical parts of the environment that affect living organisms and the functioning of ecosystems (Dictionary.com, 2017). Some examples of abiotic factors in the Amazon forest include water cycle, temperature and carbon cycle. Additionally, the living components of an ecosystem also referred to as the biotic factors (Dictionary.com, 2017) are elements of the Amazon forest. This includes the organisms living in the ecosystem and the present food chain. Altogether, these are factors and components that are seen in the Amazon forest, despite the deteriorating status of the rainforest due to human activities within the ecosystem. With these activities currently occurring, the amazon rainforest could potentially be eliminated if action is not taken.
The carbon cycle in The Amazon Rainforest consists mainly in the plants. The plants will absorb the carbon dioxide and release oxygen into the atmosphere. The carbon that is absorbs with the plants mainly forms the organic body of the plant. For every one atom of carbon dioxide a plant absorbs, it will release two atoms of oxygen into the atmosphere. The animals also absorb the carbon dioxide into their system by eating the plants as a source of food. When either the plant or animal dies, the carbon dioxide is released back into the atmosphere.
Amazon rainforest has a tropical climate or also know as the equatorial climate. It is humid throughout the year and has an average temperature of 28 degree celsius. We can not really divide the climate between summer and winter as it has a annual temperature range of 2 degree celsius. The temperature difference between day and night is about 2 to 5 degree celsius. The climate is not as hot as we may except it rarely goes above 30 degree celsius. but the only trouble in the rainforest is the humidity which causes a feeling of lack of air. Due to the humidity we can not really see a dry season in the amazon as it rains thought out the year. We can divide rainfall in Amazon into into two parts rainy and not so rainy.
My team has discovered a new population of sloths in the Amazon Rainforest. The team has a job of figuring out three things regarding these sloths. The team has to determine if the new population is evolving, how it is related to other sloth populations near it, and if it is a different species than the other sloth populations.
The Amazon has a humid climate. There’s a lot precipitation and an average temperature of 77 degrees Fahrenheit. The rainforest is found in South America. The Amazon River is surrounded by tropical rainforest. Three layers can be found in the forest. The forest floor is the bottom layer, it has an under story where all the trunks of the trees are located, and a canopy. This is where the tops of the trees are located.
The Amazon Rainforest is the largest rainforest and river basin in the world. It covers around 2.1 million square miles of land, and exists in eight different countries and one French Territory. The Amazon rainforest is one of the most diverse places on the planet, accounting for ten percent of all known species, with more being discovered every year. But in this fragile ecosystem, people see opportunity to make money and a lifestyle, sometimes even illegally, trying to profit in the logging, mining, and agriculture industries. However, these industries help contribute to the deforestation of the Amazon Rainforest.
According to rainforestanimals.net it states, "A wide variety of life including insects and larger animals living in ( Rainforest floor) this layer include Jaguars, Bengal Tigers, Okapis, and Southern Cassowaries". Also according to rainforestanimals.net they wrote " Animals that inhabit the rainforest canopy include Lemurs, Spider Monkeys, Sloths, Toucans, Oranguans, and Parrots". Another thing rainforestanimals.net says is that " Animals that inhabit emergent trees include a variety of insects, some species of bats, and some species of birds including the Harpy Eagles. Lastly, the reliable source of rainforestanimals.net they say, " Many animals have special adaptions that allow them to live in tropical conditions, but would not survive outside the ecosystem. These animals include but are not limited to Toucans, Parrots, Sloths, Orangutans, Gorillas, and Lemurs". What all these quotes tell you is that the Amazon Rainforest is one of the many forests that support and protect most of the animals on our planet. The Denver Academy has recently researched and defined some of the important facts surrounding the Amazon rainforest. In 2017, the Amazon rainforest covers 2.1 million square miles of South America. It is a vast ecosystem home to 10% of the world’s known species (The Denver Academy). They go on to say that the trees are so dense, when it rains, it takes 10 minutes for the water to break through the forest roof. The destruction of this habitat could lead to extinction of these species, and have devastating impacts all over the world from the loss of the lungs of the earth. While it is mainly concentrated in Brazil there are also large portions of the rainforest in Peru and Colombia, so many populations and economies are directly affected
The battle for the Amazon rainforest is a daunting task. It's a long going battle between miners, loggers, and developers against the indigenous people who call it home. It's a battle like any battle in a war; it affects lives, families, the economy, politics, and the environment amongst other things. The main topic of this debate is the effects of the Amazon deforestation on the people who live in it, this will be the focus of this research paper. Imagine you are a care-free monkey, swinging from tree to tree in the canopy of a rainforest. You start to hear a low rumble in the distance. "Must be a thunderstorm," you think. I decided to do my presentation on biomes but not just any biome, I decided on the Tropical Rainforest. The tropical rainforest biome is an ecosystem that covers 6 percent of the earth. They are found all over the earth but the majority lie in South America. Tropical rainforests are defined by their hot and wet climate. The average temperature in this area is around 75 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. These areas often get up to 12 hours of sunlight due to being located on the Earths equator. Obviously, since it’s called a rainforest, it gets a lot of rain. Most rainforests get up to 100 inches of rain annually.
