case in point is the Clark County School District, Las Vegas, Nevada which has a central kitchen that does not meet the demands of the district. Due to this they started a “Dish Up” program where high schools produce for their needs and for the needs of elementary schools in the district.Food production is thereby centralized at a central kitchen and at regional kitchens. This combination affords them efficiencies in labour and the capacity to satisfy the needs of the school district. (National food Service Management Institute, 2002).
LO 1.2 Factors Affecting Recipes and Menus for Specific Systems Recipes and menus are important tools for sales and the development of a production plan in any outlet or establishment. A menu is a list a certain types of food items and beverages that are offered by establishments to their consumers for a particular period of time which can be served for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Planning of recipes and menus is important because it allows establishments and outlets to think ahead in terms of food production planning. It also makes maximum use of of the available resources which include food in season, tools, equipment, fuel, food supplies and budgetary allocations. Menus and recipes give important insights about the planning aspects of a facility, the kind of staff that is required, raw materials needed and the equipment to be used. It is therefore important to note that recipe and menu planning is a continuous ,process that
Wasting money is a big problem, yet it is not the only one; wasting the catering associate’s time is another. Catering associates only have about two minutes to spend in a patient’s room. That may seem like plenty of time to get an order and move on to the next patient. However, by the time the caterer describes the menu, diet, and the Always Available Menu, by the time the patients decide what they want, it is time to for the catering associate to move on. There is very little time to search for a menu and describe the process of ordering. Therefore, this leads to confusion for patients.
This discussion is on a food production company which is divided into two groups: Those that prepare and serve food and those that produce and distribute food, equipment, and services needed by food providers. The most common example of the first group food staffs are Restaurants employ who manages 60% of the work to be done within company. The former includes staffs, hosts, and busboys. The latter includes chefs, cooks, managers, and dishwashers. Fast food restaurants limit their employ to food preparation people, managers, and cashiers. The trend of food trucks adds a mobile
Let me tell you about a marvelous state called Nevada. Nevada is located in the southwestern side of the United States. Nevada is known as the “Silver State,” which is the official nickname, even though it says “Battleborn” on their flag. Since most of the U.S gold came from Nevada, you’d think that it would be called the Golden State, but nope, that title goes to California, for reasons I do not know. Furthermore, Nevada has a tremendous amount of history, fascinating geographical features, glorious climate, indispensable agriculture as well as industry, and captivating natural resources. All of these features are what makes Nevada, Nevada! You will see that Nevada is a phenomenal state to learn about.
In order for Livoria to be successful in implementing the menu expansion, it must first contact its suppliers and ensure they can meet the change and increase in veggie demand. Next training and logistics must be arranged in house to adapt to the change in menu options. Quality must be maintained and no short cuts can be made. With the financial analysis provided in Exhibit 4
The United States constitution was originally created by our Framers with the purpose to allow the States to have more power than the federal government. Over the years, the States have lost more of their power and the federal government has increased its powers with interpretations and implied powers found within the constitution. All the States within the US have complied with the constitution created by the Framers. Each state has created a longer, more detailed version of the United States constitution by using it as a basis for their own state constitution and modifying it to better fit the specific needs of their state. The Nevada constitution is much longer than the United States constitution and has many amendments that are a better fit for the people of Nevada.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff 's Department is tasked with providing health care services to all incarcerated prisoners within a jail system which at present exceeds 18,500 inmates. Correctional Treatment Center (CTC) provides care and treatment for inmates requiring inpatient medical and or psychiatric care in this 196-bed rated medical unit located in the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in downtown Los Angeles. The inmate population is in poor health, largely due to the lifestyle choices of the inmates which often include substance abuse, violence, and living on the streets of Los Angeles. They require the same basic medical care that all residents of Los Angeles County require, including routine illness to advanced medical issues such as tuberculosis (TB), AIDS/HIV+, heart disease, diabetes, dialysis, paraplegics, and acute mental health problems. Additionally, problems associated with aging are becoming common as the jail population increasingly includes older inmates. In the wake of chronic overcrowding in the county lockups, the Sheriff 's Department has been struggling to provide adequate care for thousands of inmates, many of whom have never been treated, with illnesses ranging from tuberculosis to AIDS to schizophrenia. Reported rates of tuberculosis in jails and prisons are more than six times higher than those for the general population. Jails and prisons concentrate individuals at high risk for TB or noncompliance with therapy, including those who are
Menu patterns: the types of menu are change by seasonal and they go by weekly so its 4-week rotation for every season, so they are switching up. The reason for changing the menu is more financial because it gives them the ideas to know what they work with. For example, when they are ordering the menu they’re going to know how much they need items such as chicken Breast or others. The manager doesn’t want to go over ordering, also because of the budget. For example, each resident has $6 a day, so they breakdown $6 a day per resident and add it all together then multiply by how many days a month, then they divide in half to get two orders. A lot of fresh food after 2 weeks it starts getting soggy and soft and the milk after 2-weeks is going

Major labor-saving technological changes of the 20th century gave rise to the industrial processing of food. In the 1950’s and 60’s we saw a rise of supermarkets and the spread of fast-food eateries. The growth of supermarkets and fast-food eateries gave way to a new method of consumption. No longer was food’s route from the local farm or ranch to the
Budget development should consider future changes that might influence the operation (Payne-Palacio & Theis, 2015, P.473). Not only budgeting, managers make decisions regarding service, product and performance evaluation in order to provide high-quality service. The active communication within customers and departments, training program and implementation of technology innovation is aimed to ensure the quality of service and product. A good menu design makes the operation more efficient and effective by considering the work process and sanitation in advance. This could help ensure the quality of the
On the menu, a variety of appetizers, soup, salad and beverages are offered; however, the limited option to the main entrée: steak, shrimp or chicken allows for the business to control their food expense at a minimal rate of 30-35% in sales. Consequently, less options also equates to less waste since there’s less to prep and the majority of each ingredient is utilized for show or consumption (i.e. end pieces of steak is used for show and rarely eaten). When prepped and brought out, the chef does not risk using too much or too little ingredients since it is all portioned and easily prepped to order in the kitchen.

USE was expanded to include field consultants and market managers and today it gives franchisees, store managers and employees a chance to see and taste new products for upcoming seasons that are intended to address the changing preferences of customers. The merchandising plan for seasonal and high-potential new products is also shared. The centerpiece of the USE is the virtual 7-Eleven store, actual size 7-Eleven floor plans are built to show how seasonal products are assimilated into the standard store mix (7-Eleven About Us, 2010). For future reference, this capability should be the tool whereby the adjustments necessary to accommodate a drive thru capability are visualized and ultimately realized.
The paper presents an analysis of the different factors influencing the restaurant industry and how these factors increase or decrease the demand for such services. The hypothesis that will be examined is that the performance of restaurants is mostly based on the type of food chosen by customers when they decide to go out for dinner, lunch, breakfast, or simply for a snack. What type of food refers mainly the nationality or concept of the food, (traditional American, Italian, Indian, Latin, or from any other type of culture). This factor is important because when customers go out to for dinner; they decide what to eat before deciding where to eat. That is why this factor is considerably important according to the hypothesis.
