There are many reasons that Bird lists so that readers and colleges can understand that tuition is never going to decrease. Bird uses diction, tone, sentence structures, locos, ethos, and pathos to prove that college students attend college hoping to get a better job and people who decide not to go to college do not want to waste their time and money.

He will continue to manage the operations of the orchard, vegetable gardens, grain fields, trout pounds, poultry operation, as well as the fall corn maze and pumpkin patch that have been a staple in the community for years. The five family members are all
In the article Our Crazy College Crossroads, Frank Bruni, addresses the topic of rejection involving students who are applying to colleges by using pathos to connect to his readers on the topic. The author appeals to his readers by uprooting the idea of rejection and worth that are commonly felt by students who are rejected from their top school. He does this through the use of metaphor, rhetorical questions and aggressive statements. Bruni attacks many opposing views such as of Malcolm Gladwell by criticizing the science behind his an argument. Bruni also points out the difference between those who get in to Ivy League colleges and those who don’t. He does this by presenting the means that some individuals lack such as financial support,

Academic freedom is another theme emphasized in The Idea of a Christian College. Holmes sums up this concept perfectly: "The Christian college must provide an opportunity and the atmosphere for an open discussion of new ideas and significant issues” (Holmes, 1987). As previously stated, a Christian college does not exist to provide a “safe haven” to Christians from the secular world. The truth could not be

Union University could easily be misconstrued as having a fundamentalist identity. Culturally, Union shares traits with fundamentalist institutions, such as strict curfew rules, ban on the use of alcoholic beverages both off and on campus, as well as limits on public displays of affection. Union also has a policy against dancing at campus-sponsored events in Section V under community values in the campus life handbook. According to the same handbook, Union University establishes rules and barriers to encourage and strengthen its community of believers so that they may become leaders of the Christian community within the university and beyond. Essentially, Union’s rules and guidelines are what construct the “Union Bubble.” However, the bubble
The ethos of Southwestern Christian University is a wonderful blend of academia and solid Christian influence. Southwestern Christian University (hereafter referred to as SCU) unapologetically advances its "vision for a Christian liberal arts education pursued from the perspective of the Biblical Christian worldview" (Wenyika). In a world "swamped" with education that has been secularized to the point of "Godlessness", SCU stands as a beam of light shining through the darkness to educate and encourage students to be excellent both in Godly character and in daily living. As an online student of SCU, I am honored to be a "torchbearer" among those like myself who have chosen to make Jesus the "Lord" over both, life and education.
The University of California Santa Barbara is an organization revolving around students and faculty alike. Any organizations can reflect two contrasting perspectives, a Naturalist or Rationalist, which underlines and questions the ideas of structure and formality. Naturalist organizations convey informality due to the basis on the flow of the members’ behavior and relationships among others. But nonetheless, Rationalist organization is formal because the organization’s fluidity is based on the members’ limits and structure. Thus, I am going to argue that overall UCSB is a Rationalist organization, rather than Naturalist, because UCSB has created limits and structure for its students and faculty; but first, I will discuss Naturalists

I have been wanting to go to Freed Hardeman ever since I can remember. When I went on the tour for the first time I became determined to do anything in power to be able to get into Freed Hardeman. I understand that my ACT score is lower than what the standards are, but I will work twice as hard as any other student on campus so I can be apart of Freed Hardeman. I have been raised up in the Church of Christ, and I want to strengthen my relationship with God. God has always been a key part of all my decisions and I know that God is leading me to Freed Hardeman. Academically I know that I am lacking but I also know that through the strength of prayer and a lot of homework I can be successful.
Freeland took over the NU when the university was faced with a tight budget and the risk of going bankruptcy. The development of the university at that time was hampered by numerous factors. On one hand, there were federal cutbacks which made many universities run short of funds and NU was no exception; on the other hand, there was a reduction in the enrollment rate which as a result made it hard for NU to sustain its operation. Therefore, there was an urgent need for Freeland to make a change in strategy to make the university become more profitable and enroll more students.
