Ever had that reoccurring thought about who may have been the first one to use the medication pill that you’re currently prescribed too? Who happened to be the first one to drink the new lemonade sprite? One must have thought after watching an advertisement, “Is that person literally the first one to try that product?” Without questioning, the answer is no, despite the products beneficial use towards health or daily needs, the advertisers tend to escape from confessing the truth behind the products production. Imagine not having a choice or say in being used for testing; for each person this may be a nightmare, however for animals it is reality. Unfortunately, animals in all kinds are violently abused in scientific research. However, is it …show more content…
It is not ethical to harm any animal and one must not go against his or her morals. Scientists are often blinded by the negative effects against the animals. They are slit opened, poisoned, and tortured. Imagine being contained in an insufficient amount of area, chances are, you may often experience impaired brain development or anxious behaviors. Pre-experimentation conditions is not where it ends, animals experience harmful scenarios that occur in a laboratory. Often, animals are injected with conditions that a healthy animal may not be familiar with. Species of all kinds experience psychological reactions from drugs that are provided to them. Over the many, not just one, but many laboratories, monkeys are addicted to drugs, cats consist of holes drilled into their skulls, rats have their spinal cords crushed, and many indescribable conditions are forced into animals. It has been identified that an estimated 26 million animals are used every year in just only the U.S for research. Currently, the number of animals dead in experiments is unknown, as no attention is provided towards the issue. How heartless can the society …show more content…
If the majority of the products have no advancement or aid towards human health, there is absolutely no reason to continue it. It is as if you`re trying to put a puzzle piece in the incorrect puzzle. It will not be able to fit and you’re consuming valuable time and the precious life of an animal. Thoroughly researched, there are many solutions to avoid high risks in cancer and harmful diseases if one takes a few minutes of their lives towards their benefit. Life spans have increased from a range of 47 to 77 years. Animal experimenters may take credit for this advancement, but stated by the medical historians, if one provides time towards taking care of sanitation, nutrition and other health related factors, cancer or many diseases can be avoided. As a result, these factors are one of the main solutions towards the fact that people gain a longer life span. Nevertheless, without the use of animal experiments, medical scientists are adequate enough to perform pregnancy tests along with utilizing of blood samples, produce and test vaccines using human tissues, and test irritancy on protein membranes. Wrong pathways are often chosen for those who desire money, and have no
Ashley raced through the aisles to find the perfect lip color to match her brand new, soft pink dress. She scavenged down each and every aisle looking closely for the crowning color. As she tore every lipstick off the shelf, a soft pink color all the way in the back, caught her eye. She quickly snatched it before anyone could get to it. Ashley stroked the beautiful packaging thinking about how perfect the light pink color would match her pale skin, her jet black hair and her pink dress. As she obsessed over the color, she noticed the label. Out of curiosity, she simply read what it had to say. This product is tested on animals, read. Ashley quickly put it back on the shelf. She didn’t want anything to do with that lip color. By buying this lipstick, she felt that she would be betraying her dog. She knew that animal testing killed thousands of dogs each year. She knew that animal testing killed millions of animals each year. She knew that she had no desire to support this cruel act. Like Ashley, many people protest against animal testing. Animal testing is inaccurate, there are many alternatives, and it is just cruel. This is why animal testing should not be permitted in the United States.
Over the last couple hundred years, this world has expanded beyond its horizons and the new equipment and technology has allowed humans to advance in many areas, but has also damaged the basic ethics and morals of some. Today on television, one will see the over dramatized body spray commercials or the famous celebrity advertising their most favorable shampoo and stating its claims, but what most do not know is that a couple or couple hundred, animals were killed to approve, by law, of that product. This act is called animal testing, and its method is used in many companies for their products to be released. I do not agree with this practice simply because it harms innocent animals for products that we do not need to survive or remain with. I believe animal testing harms and tortures, innocent and helpless animals, by containing them in tight spaces, with chemicals drenched on their skin for several hours to see how they might react or the effects to analyze what worked and what did not work. My claim on this topic is that animal testing should be not be legal in any country or required for products to sell because I feel that their are alternative ways and I see many
We are all animals. Although we like to believe we are superior and justify many of our actions on this ideology. The truth is quite different. We share countless, undeniable similarities with “animals” and to pretend we are some super being that transcends animals status is foolish.
Eddie you may not know him, he’s a chimpanzee that lives in Oakland zoo in California. No know one knew Eddie as Margaret Rousser. Margaret was Eddie’s caregiver. A reporter in California was doing a report on the Oakland zoo and they notice that Eddie may never go back home. Eddie and his brother are from the wild in Africa. But they might never go back home because Eddie has developed “human like” actions. In 2014 of the June California Senate passed a resolution 22 which should urge the US congress to ban all animal testing. Cosmetic testing on animals has been outlawed in many countries for example Israel, united kingdom, and of course European Union.
As of right now millions of animals are being used for education, to test drugs, and product and cosmetic testing. Monkeys, rabbits, cats, ferrets, pigs, sheep, and monkeys are just a few of the animals that are being used for testing. 90% of the animals happen to be mice, birds, and rats. It is the worst form of animal abuse that is endorsed by our society. If it’s okay with society then there must be some good outcomes from it.
Every year the united States spend between $12 billion to $14.5 billion on animal testing. Many sciencetifics have been getting so used to harming monkeys, mice, dogs, that now they don’t even hear the animals cry or feel their bones when cutting them or taring them apart. Preventing animal testing could prevent side effects on humans, decrease animal death, and help humans by having an animal as a pet to protect them from danger physically but not killing their pets.
One reason that it isn’t ethical to do scientific research on animals is because animals are killed each year. About 20 million animals are experimented and killed annually. LIke I said before animals are starved, shocked, burned, and poisoned as scientists look for something that just might yield some human benefit. In one case, baby mice had their legs chopped off so that experimenters could observe whether they 'd learn to groom themselves with their stumps. In another, polar bears were submerged in a tank of crude oil and salt water to see if they 'd live. And, for those experiments which do have merit, there exist many non-animal alternatives. We don’t need animals to die. When scientists test
Did you know that about 70,000 animals are killed every year due to animal testing? Well, it's true. A lot of people don't take it into consideration, but it's an issue that we really need to address. What is Animal testing exactly? It's when company after company removes animals from their natural habitats and exposes them to dangerous chemicals.
“Each year, more than 100 million animals—including mice, rats, frogs, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, monkeys, fish, and birds—are killed in U.S. laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing” says Peta.org. Animal testing can injure or sometimes even kill animals, some animals don’t even have any protection to help them through the process of testing, and if you think about it animals have many differences from humans, so whatever your testing on animals could work for them but not work for people and vice versa. Animals shouldn’t be used for any type of testing, whether it be medical or cosmetic.
They are capable of feeling pain and should not have to endure drastic side effects, or maybe death in order to possibly make an advance in medicine. The organization, Animal Liberation, provides perfect reasoning for banning all animal experimentation by stating, “Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security. . .what about animals?” (Animal Liberation). This quote points out the fact that animals experience life, emotions, and pain just like we do. While people say that sacrificing thousands of animals are worth saving even one life, there is an ethical downfall in this view point. Animal Rights points out that, “Ethics dictate the value of each life in and of itself cannot be superseded by its potential value to anyone else” (Animal Testing is Bad Science). When you think of the fact that animals are living creatures just like us, you cannot say it is not morally right to take risk and alter their lives. Mark Bekoff, a former evolutionary biology professor, believes that animal lives should not be sacrificed for this reason. After all, how could anyone justify experimenting on living things when the participants cannot give
“Millions of animals die each year in Laboratory experiments.” Are their deaths worth it? People have reported seeing research animals in pain, moaning, shrinking back in fear, and being killed during experiments. Cats used for AIDS research, eye and ear disorders. Monkey used for polio, cancer, heart disease. Dogs being used for pacemakers, hip tests. And that’s just naming a few. Animal Testing must be stopped immediately.
Animal Experimentation leads to death/illnesses/mental illnesses. Animals suffer everyday from undergoing purposeful injuries and deadly surgeries that when happening don’t even get a pain killer or antibiotic to calm or numb the pain. Usually all experiments and surgeries lead to death and suffering,”Animal Ethics that concludes that the practice is “unthinkable” and “in terms of harm, pain, suffering, and death, this constitutes one of the major moral issues of our time””(Goodman Justin ⅓) Animals die and suffer from the pain they have to got through just to see if one little item will help clean a house or help out cosmetologists or even a little pill that they think can cure cancer but really only kills animal.
biomedical experimentation leads to animal suffering millions of animals are stuck behind cages many of those animals never had a life outside of a laboratory. According to petda More than one million animals are used for biomedical research each year big companies use animals to test their products some of these products humans use everyday it can be as simple as your shampoo or body wash to your eye liner. animals have rights too just as humans, animals are subject to many different test in 1920 animals were used for acute toxicity testing in which the animal was subject to poisoning to determine the toxic consequences of a single, short-term exposure to a product or chemical, the substance is administered to animals
Animals must be submitted to suffering pain that push their bodies to the limit. They also suffer dreadfully as ardous chemicals are caressed into their skin, forced down their throats, and even dropped in their eyes without any pain relief (Wayne Pacelle). Experiments with animals are virtually tortured to death, and all of these tests are done in the interests of human welfare, without any thought to how the animals are treated(Lone Star College). Animals are being overdose and observed until they die with all the chemicals that are submerging into their bodies(Wayne Pacelle). But even though we are using animals for human welfare the Food and Drug Administration reports that 92 out of 100 drugs that pass on animals fail on humans. This is more than half the animals. Humankind is just assassinating animals almost for no reason(P.E.T.A.) Mankind requires about 50 experiments (12,000 animals), only for one single pesticide that’s futile.(P.E.T.A.) Furthermore, mankind is only using 27% for basic research in animals and 13% for regulatory use(“Cruelty Free International”) Besides it also states that 49% of all experiments were conducted at universities often using taxpayers’ funds to support these “playful” experiments. As a final point, testing on animals for medicine and worthless purposes just causes great apprehension for these animals(“Cruelty Free
“They are enslaved, beaten, and kept in chains… mutilated and confined in tiny cages… burned, blinded, poisoned, and cut up alive in the name of ‘science’... electrocuted, strangled, and skinned alive…” (Animals in Medical). Animals have been subject to experimentation and testing for “science” since 258 BC. Animal testing used to be used for the benefit of animals and mankind, however animal experimentation has gone downhill from when it first started. Some say that animal experimentation benefits society and its advancement of medicine, however, animal experimentation is wrong because it causes unnecessary pain to animals that have not done anything to us.
