The Tundra is an extremely cold climate. During the winter months the average temperature is -34 degrees Celsius. The Arctic tundra is located in north Russia. Its coordinates are anywhere between 60 to 80 degrees North latitude and 70 to 180 degrees east longitude. The average precipitation including melting snow is 6 to 10 inches. The arctic tundra has a cold and dry climate but underneath the top layer of soil is a solid layer of subsoil called permafrost which never thaws.

Antarctica is not techanicaly in the arctic circle but is considered tundra because of how harsh the cold tempatures are.

Antarctica is certainly the most pristine environment left on the earth. Unfortunately this is no longer the case because of multiple human activities that have led to environmental issues and concerns such as pollution, ozone layer thinning, global warming etc. Human impact is a serious threat to ecosystem and food chain of Antarctica.

Although polar bears and penguins both live in polar regions, they will never meet. Polar bears and penguins live in different polar regions. The Arctic in the north is home to polar bears while penguins live in Antarctica in the south.
