Army sustainment is based on an integrated process (people, systems, materiel, health services, and other support) indivisibly linking sustainment to operations. The concept focuses on building a combat ready Army, delivering it to the combatant commander (CCDR) as part of the joint force, and sustaining its combat power across the depth of the operational area and with unrelenting endurance (ADRP 4-0, Chap. 1, Intro.) Sustainment maintenance is off-system component repair and/or end item repair and return to the supply system or by exception to the owning unit, performed by national level maintenance providers. National level maintenance providers include the Army
Is it right that Donald Trump bans Transgenders that have the capability to fight and train like everyone else? Serving for the military is a great opportunity that has been taken away from Transgenders, that deserve that opportunity, and here’s three reasons that Transgenders should be able to serve. Three reasons why Transgenders should stay in the military are they shouldn’t be kicked out and deployed out of the military despise their gender. The military will lose approximately 15,000 active troops that were doing an amazing job at serving our country. Finally, because the Donald Trump claims that the medical cost is too much, but training and getting troops up to readiness standards will cost more money.
Recruitment of the United States military is a vital part of maintaining an all volunteer military force. Because of recent world events and the high operations tempo of the military, Army has had some problems with its recruitment. Convincing civilians to sign up to be a solider can be a tough job when it requires being sent 7,000 miles from home to go fight in a war zone. What can recruiters do to keep
Every day, there are American citizens who risk their lives for the sake of their country's safety. Men and women who believe that justice, peace, and equality should be served. However, within their beliefs, some choose to exclude transgender individuals who have the same rights and freedoms. The American society considers the world to be progressively changing and growing, however, seem to forget that in order for the military to survive the 21st century, diversity is crucial. Although the medical costs may raise the overall healthcare median per year, transgender individuals should have the right to serve in the U.S. armed forces because any human being who meets the physical qualifications and has a willing attitude should have the right to serve.
First off Congrats on the promotion to a very distinguished rank, part of the elite officers of the Armed Forces. I know it is well deserved. I appreciate the opportunity I was bestowed to meet you and also having my spouse be a part of your leadership team. I wish the best for you and your family as you pursue the next leg of your military
Many people are concerned about the U.S. military because of how many risks come with joining it. However, the U.S. military also explains the benefits that one could receive. Joining the military is a decision that should not be taken lightly. One must understand all aspects of the military. In order for a voter to be fully informed about joining the US military, one must consider both the risks, like mental illnesses and commitment and benefits, like education, and experience.
In 1961, Secretary of Defence Robert S. McNamara sent a strongly worded memo to Army Secretary Elvis J. Stahr. He ordered the Army, through the Chief of Staff of the Army, to implement air mobility. This proved to be the birthright of the airmobile division and the eventual evolution of a new doctrine of air combat.
The purpose of Army maintenance is to preserve the required performance capabilities of Army materiel or to return those assets to their baseline performance capabilities. Maintenance is an enabling process to meeting Army Force Generation (ARFORGEN) requirements. ARFORGEN is the process used to generate and regenerate combat power and preserve the capital investment of combat systems and equipment to enable training and mission accomplishment (Department of the Army, 2013). The Army’s doctrinal definition can be confusing to some and it does not make mention of efficiency, reducing non-value adding activities and the overall equipment effectiveness. This definition allow for commanders at all levels the flexibility to focus on other tasks, tasks not related to maintenance.
The training a Soldier receives during his Advanced Individual Training (AIT) tends to be very basic. The Soldiers learns how to do maintenance on only a small amount of tasks in order to be considered trained. The follow-on of training will be given at his/her first duty station, through the form of hands-on-training. A soldier will not usually come across every type of mechanical failure in the first year after his/her AIT. The training then lies in the hands of his/her senior maintenance technician to ensure they are proficient in each task. I see to many times that soldiers tend to rush maintenance in order to go home on time at the end of their duty day. Failure to pay attention to detail and take their time leads to mistakes being made, which can cause maintenance to be delayed.
“Leadership is the art of getting someone else to do something you want done, because he wants to do it”. -34th President of the United States Dwight D. Eisenhower.
History of MHS – According to Kongstvedt (2007), the history of military health care dates back to the establishment of the Army Medical Department on July 27, 1775 and congress established the position of the nation’s first Director General and Chief Physician which later evolved to the office of the Surgeon General of the United States. One of the first unique features of the military health system is the act that was approved by the congress ordering the deduction of 20 cents a month from the salary of Sailors and Marines for their care in civilian treatment facilities. I personally consider this as the first “insurance payment system” long before the birth of HMOs. As the military expands, they eventually assigned one Surgeon General for each branch of the military except Coast Guard (Coast Guard was under the Department of Transportation and eventually became under Department of Homeland Security after 9/11). When sequestration took in effect, all branches were consolidated under one health care system: Military Health System.
Sustainment is defined by the Army as “the provision of logistics, personnel services, and health service support necessary to maintain operations until successful mission completion.” The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines sustain as “to provide what is needed for (something or someone) to exist, continue, etc.; to give support or relief to.”
I would be eligible for this occupation because I love to be active, and I was in cross country. I am able to run long distances without taking a break. My relatives were in the army like my great grandpa who participated in both of the World Wars. My grandpa used to be in the Vietnam War; he talks about it a lot in his spare time. My family has been in the military, but some of my past relatives have. The US Airborne provides excitement, education, opportunity, and competitive wages.

Considering that the military’s logistical structure hasn’t had a major improvement in over 60 years, the idea of streamlining and consolidating systems would be a welcome and much needed change. I currently work in the ammunition field for the U.S. Army and have done so for the past 18 years. The changes that the Marines are beginning to implement will help to free up resources and cut funds that could be used for other projects.
