I have always enjoyed STEM, and it has always been fun, interesting, and exciting to me. I have done many things that relate to STEM, and enjoyed all of them. I have done many projects that have to do with science, technology, engineering, and math in Ms. Moore’s class and at home. STEM has influenced my imagination and thoughts, I really enjoy working in groups, and STEM and arts and crafts makes me want to do something, and gets me very excited.
STEM influences/ inspires my imagination and thoughts. For example, I sometimes wonder what I want to be when I get older and I think about what I have to do in order to meet my goals. Also, when I made my soda/ water bottle rocket last year, since I was the designer, I thought about what fins we should use. We decided to make one that will fly better by measuring

I have done many projects the previous year and some this year so far in Ms. Moore’s class about STEM. I have always gotten excited and have fun making projects that deal with STEM and drawing/sketching/drafting, and building. Like I said before, I made a bottle rocket last year with my team members and it was fun. I also made a bridge made out of k'nex pieces, we made a windmill, and etc., but we didn’t do a mouse trap car, which I was really looking forward to, …show more content…
I have been building things in Ms. Moore’s class since last year and look forward to building new things and working on new projects, we work in teams, and I could also get a job that relates with science, technology, engineering, and math. In order to accomplish my goal of one day, becoming a mechanical engineer, I have to work hard, keep studying, get good grades, not give up, and do my best. I also have to earn certain degrees and have certain
In 1954 ACSM (American College of Sports Medicine) was founded. It is the largest sports medicine and exercise science program in the world. The ACSM was started by people who want to change the lifestyles of others and help make them healthier; they ACSM program has over 50,000 members. Their members put their knowledge and training into helping others gain a healthier life. As students we are provided opportunities through ACSM. Some of the opportunities we are provided are, resources to extend our learning, for example you could contact a professional in the field that you wish to learn more about. ACSM also offers many employment opportunities as well as being able to attend or present your information at a Conference. Not only do ACSM offer those opportunities but they offer scholarships as well. One of the initiatives ACSM has is called, Everybody Walk, it is a
STEM integration within America’s schools is a necessary requirement to adequately prepare students to compete in our future society. Although growth in STEM related jobs is quite apparent, knowledge of STEM capacities is necessary to function in the 21st century.
Argumentative and alternative communication systems (AACs) are interventions for students with severe communication impairments, such as autism spectrum disorders and other severe disabilities. In addition, the case of autism disorders will be used to represent severe communication impairments while providing guidelines in how to prepare teachers to be able to use the picture exchange communication system (PECS) as an example AACs. The PECS and other methods of AAC have gained popularity in their usage to improve the communication capabilities of children with significant communication impairments. However, it difficult to use PECS and other methods of AAC to improve the communication skills of the children without preparing and supporting. The content include four areas which special education teachers should be knowledgeable about when teach students with severe communication impairments and who are in need for AACs. First will outline characteristics and needs of the students and then secondly, will provide guidelines on how to asses and identify an appropriate method of AACs to use with an individual student. After that it will give information on how to implement and support the individual student use of PECS or other methods of AACs. These educational guidelines are
Simultaneously, I used my understanding of the concepts to deliver one of the lessons and create a classroom environment were each student could openly express their ideas and demonstrate their STEM understanding verbally or in writing. To continue my professional growth, I became a member of the National Educator Association. This website provides information on STEM, its benefits, and different lesson
AAS, or Anabolic-Androgenic Steroids, is an extremely harmful drug used by many body builders, athletes, and performers. Those who use this type of drug may use it for competition or to have a better looking body. Although they don’t realize how horrible this drug could affect them physically and mentally, people still use and abuse it to create their version of the perfect human body and to compete within top tiers. These drugs should not be used for any type of purposes except for medical.
Helping others succeed by teaching STEM is what I believe to be one of the most beneficial ways I can help people. I would especially like to expose them to engineering so that one day they can be engineers themselves. However, the methodical thinking that engineering teaches can be brought into any career field and is beneficial to everyone.
“Today I will do what others won’t, so tomorrow I can do what others can’t.”- Jerry Rice. I love this quote by Jerry Rice because it says the hard work you put in will pay off. That while others are slacking off, you are bettering yourself and are one step closer to your goals. Throughout this essay, I will explain what exercise is, how fast your heart should beat, how many calories should be burned, and that muscle fibers should be broken down.
There is a lot of attention placed on STEM education from businesses and the federal government. First, this paper will explain what STEM is, how it came to be, and the reasons behind the urgency to implement this program in schools as early as kindergarten across the United States. Then this paper will address any potential issues for this plan, and how STEM can be a benefit the future of education.
Nowadays, studying abroad is a goal for many students around the world. Due to the advanced educational system in the western countries, which entitles the students to work anywhere in the world. Other ways, they work in a leadership position in their homeland. Therefore, one year ago, I came to the U.S., and I joined the ALP, which is American Language Program, to pursue my goal which is using English perfectly. The ultimate result of my two semesters experience in learning English in a foreign country is that new students need to know about three important things: culture shock, Americans' lifestyle, and some of the best ways to learn English.
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics otherwise known as STEM, provides the new wave of academic excellence for students of the 21st century. It is an exciting time to be scholar. STEM students enjoy a rigorous cross-curricular education that allows them to undertake competitive coursework placing them on their own playing field.
STEM is a subject that has always fascinated me and that’s why I love it. Everything about it never ceases to amaze me. When I went to the Science and Engineering festival I saw so many exhibits that had cool things like a robot that could navigate itself through a maze because of its AI and all of its
The reason why the atomic mass of an atom is a decimal number is because every atom has isotopes . The atomic mass of an atom contains a different number of protons and neutrons. If an atom has a different number of neutrons, the atomic mass will be different for each atom. The mass of the atom is measured in AMU’s which is atomic mass unit because it has an extremely small mass. In order to measure these tiny atoms, we know that one amu is equal to 1.66054 X 10^ -24 g. The way the elements are arranged on the periodic table is by the order of increasing atomic number, which includes the mass number of protons and neutrons.
AFM1 contamination in dairy products is a global problem threatening public health in all areas of the world. The contamination of dairy products with AFM1 display variations according to season, geography and country [3]. Higher level of AFM1 in traditional yoghurt might be due to high level of AFB1 in feedstuff [5]. Various surveys were performed in order to determine the AFM1 levels in yoghurt. Tabari et al. reported that all tested traditional yoghurt samples in Guilan province were contaminated with AFM1 in range of 4.2-78.9 ng/kg and 13.33 % of the tested samples had contamination levels above the European regulation (50 ng/kg) [7]. Martins et al. 96 local yoghurt samples were tested by HPLC in Portugal and was found in 18 samples out of 78, ranging 19-98 ng/kg [8].
Being in a school that focuses on nothing but STEM work has allowed me to do things that I love such as: doing research on interesting science, technology, engineering, and math topics. Projects during my senior year of high school and during finals of my junior year of high school has allowed me to become a stronger person.
I am determined to make a difference in the future of our country, and that starts with educating American children about STEM. Through my passion for science united with my title, I will teach the youth of my community about the successes and knowledge that comes along with their own passion for
