In general, Autism is characterized to have children struggle with social difficulties, communication challenges and a tendency to have repetitive behaviors. One of the ways families struggle with children having autism is that there is parental stress involved. For children to target social skills they are able to work on body basics, participation, wants and needs, and finally beginning a conversation. According to the article “Effects of a Social Skills Intervention on Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Peers with Shared Deficits” it mentions how the clinic is doing two clinical trials on two little boys. First and foremost, this article is showing readers the different types of situations that the Stapleton’s had to face during the time. In fact, one of the situations that Matt and his family were facing at the time was that the family was dealing with the situation of having Kelli in jail with the charge of a first-degree child abuse averted a trial for murder. As a matter of fact, as Kelli reached her breaking point of dealing with the abuse from Issy, Kelli was in the process of planning the murder of her daughter by poisoning her with carbon monoxide. At that point, Kelli had kept thinking to herself that it would be a good idea to kill herself and Issy by suffocating themselves together in a car with carbon monoxide. Kelli always had this perfect picture of her children being able to take care of themselves, even when Matt and Kelli were out around town. In the opinion of the reader, the reader may argue that Kelli deserves to serve jail time due to the reason of Kelli wanting to murder her daughter. Due to the nature of Kelli Stapleton's crime, the consequence she is facing are known to be able to terminate her parental rights, and her sentence should be extended to a lifetime without communication to her
