The reason why this bar is considered to be a risk factor to the community is because it can be a safety hazard to others like the children who walk through this bar in their daily life. It can also be a risk factor because it’s not a positive image to the community. In the daily basis you see drunk people come out and just hangout outside the location. The Bar itself seems harmless from the outside, it has like a western painting in the front with a painting of a girl and guy in horses. However, when passing through you do see smoke (from smocking), people drinking, hear loud music, see people dancing, or on the poll tables. Homeless tend to be asleep either in the front, in the alley, or by the parking area and some do tend to be drunk or
1) Whether the risks that Adair faced were inherent in the activity of rock climbing?
The Neighborhood/Community Safety Inventory tool was used to assess physical and psychosocial safety hazards in the county. Environmental safety hazards found in Brazoria County include drinking water violations, severe housing problems, and driving alone to work (County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, 2015). Though a breakdown of the actual chemicals for drinking water violations could not be located, the violations occurred at a rate of 5% (County Health Rankings & Roadmaps, 2015). Severe housing problems included units lacking complete kitchen facilities, units lacking complete plumbing facilities, households that are severely overcrowded, or household that is severely

Start building this shelter and watch the percentages drop. The drug and alcohol rates will steadily decrease as well as crime rates. What will increase actually will look great for our city, as sanitation and city morale will boost. It’s quite clear that taking abandoned buildings and turning them to homeless shelters will help the people in need and the city of

In youth homelessness these children, adolescents and even young adults are being exposed to many dangerous drugs, alcohol, and people.
I noticed a significant amount of trash along the sidewalks and streets. The roads and sidewalks were in need of repair in some areas which was evident by potholes and cracks. I also noticed a food vender cart serving unhealthy food to a large group of people who seemed to be attracted toward this type of food. Other food venues in the area, mainly take out restaurants, were also unhealthy food in nature such as fried chicken.
There are two liquor stores that are visible, but it was not peak hour so the traffic to the liquor store was very slow. However, I notice that on the weekends people would visit the liquor store more frequently. The few people that I observed going back and forth from the liquor store did not appear intoxicated, but a few of them appears as if they are under the influence of some other type of drugs. Some of the people were clean and well dressed, while others were unkempt and scantily dresses. On this particular day that I went to continue my surveillance, I saw some children playing “Jump rope” skipping in the streets. Some of the adolescents were constantly busy on their cell phones, while others ride their bicycles around. I saw pregnant women including teenagers pushing their babies in
Some other causes for a spike in crime rates include bars. In the article written by Kathryn Stewart called “How Alcohol Outlets Affect Neighborhood Violence”, she talks about the information that she has gathered about the relationship between outlet density and alcohol violence. In one of the many findings that she has come up with, she says “In a study of 74 cities in Los Angeles County, California, a higher density of alcohol outlets was associated with more violence, even when levels of unemployment, age, ethnic and racial characteristics and other community characteristics were taken into account” (Stewart 2). She explains how areas within heavily populated cities with a numerous amount of liquor stores and bars are linked to the dangerously high crime rates. The underlying factors, like unemployment, that Stewart mentions, all play a part in why people are so drawn to these specific spots. When there are liquor stores in these areas, they do indeed attract people based on age and
The last hazard that could occur within this setting is a security hazard. An example of a security hazard within Riverglade would be due to the house being an old Victorian house that has been converted there fire system may not be working correctly or may not even work at all. For example, the residents and staff are all asleep, a fire breaks out in the kitchen the staff, and residents are not made aware of the fire, as the fire alarms did not go off. This can then cause serious harm to residents and staffs that are asleep in the house, as they will inhale a lot of smoke causing damage to their lungs and in worse cases, this can result in death. This is more likely to happen in an old people’s home because where the staffs in the care
There are no traces of toxic fumes in the area. The air is fresh and the atmospheres pleasant. There are no major industrial areas. The only safety hazards observed were ones that could not be avoided. The crosswalks that cross the road are an obvious hazard, but the signs do help with that
