Big cats such as leopards, cheetahs, jaguars, lions and tigers survive in the wild by eating wild prey and they live in a dry climate in Africa. Some big cats are at risk of extinction due to hunting which is then used for clothing. Smaller cats were originally domesticated for pest control.

Cats were originally domesticated for pest control, hunting and shepherding. They were selected as the animal to breed as they could help control the number of rodents and would thrive from eating them.
