Good day sir! I know some improvements needed for next year’s Cadet Corps leadership. First improvement is PT. We need to agree on stuff to do, If most of the class don't like it, then we shouldn't do it. But if most of the class agrees, then we should. I think this will help the flight and the group. This was one of my greatest accomplishments that I have achieved in my life. The roles of a Flag Party Commander from the views of an outsider are commanding and taking lead of many parades. Through leading the members of the Flag Party, I have not only gained the trust and the ability to lead the members, but I have learned to lead myself and take full control of my life. Also, I learned that leading with care, passion, and positivity is in my opinion the most effective method to lead. The last idea that I have learned from being the commander is that it is not just about being the best, but it is to lead others with motivation, being another cadet's role model, feeding people ideas and let them create their own, and taking the extra step to be the best person that you want the others to see you
Leadership development in the military is critical to its mission and objectives. Understanding and embracing leadership will foster an agile culture and facilitate attainment of strategic goals. People desire quality leadership to assist with achieving their goals, albeit personal or professional development. Having a clear vision and the motivation to perform at high-levels influences others to work synergistically together to achieve organizational goals. Insomuch, employees value being treated respectfully, fairly, and ethically. Leaders serve people best when they help them develop their own initiative and good judgment, enable them to grow, and help them become better contributors.
Being a leader is always a challenge, and assuming a new command is challenging. There are a lot of expectations to me as a leader. The organization has selected me to a new position, and they believe I fulfill their standards for their leaders. The organization trust and expect me to lead, develop and achieve. My superiors and subordinates have a lot of expectations. They expect me to lead them in the best way to solve our assigned missions. In my new assignment as commander of 4th Armor Brigade Combat Team (ABCT), the main critical leadership problems are the lack of cohesive teams, ethical and work standards and the level of stress. I will through analyze explain and defend my selection of critical leadership problems and apply a model for solving them, including implementing and measuring my vision as the new brigade commander.
I want to be a drum major and squad leader for the 2018 season of marching band. I know I have the leadership qualities that are needed to fill these positions. The current leadership experience I have through band is being a previous squad leader, holding three band officer positions, and at times being the Symphonic Band clarinet section leader. Outside of band I am a member of the National Honors Society and am a mentor in MVP. I also frequently volunteer with programs that help children and I have been a preschool teacher in one program.
The President of the Student Council. The drum major of the marching band. The founder of the biggest club at school. All of these positions involve organizing, interacting with, and motivating a large amount of people and just scream “LEADERSHIP!” However, this wasn’t the right kind of leadership for me; I’m not the type to get up and speak in front of a big group of people or give grandiose motivational speeches, but I still wanted to be helpful to others nonetheless.
As an officer in the United States Army, it has been imperative for me to understand every facet of leadership and why it remains important to be an effective leader. During this course, I have learned some valuable lessons about myself as a leader and how I can improve on my leadership ability in the future. The journal entries along with the understanding of available leadership theories have been an integral part of my learning during this course. For all of the journals and assessments that I completed, I feel it has given me a good understanding of my current leadership status and my future potential as a leader. All of the specific assessments looked at several areas in regards to leadership; these assessments covered several
Leadership is an important character trait of National Honor Society. Last summer I had the opportunity to lead a team during the off season. At the end of the regular season, there were no captains elected. Captains are in charge of organizing events and practices when the coaches are not allowed to communicate with the team. I took on the responsibility of organizing activities. I communicated with other players and got their input for the activities. I had to reach out to incoming freshman by organizing a group message as well as emailing parents. I also made sure to keep our coach updated on how everything was going.
1. I certify the following JROTC cadets that I am responsible for, attending at the said event, JROTC Cadet Leadership Challenge (JCLC) 2017, has Insurance coverage in accordance with AR 145-2, paragraph 5-13 (3) (e).
I have demonstrated leadership throughout high in being in top 10%, a member of National Honor Society, Technology Student Association (TSA), and a member of multiple varsity teams. I have illustrated that not only can you be successful in your academics but also in your extracurricular activities. I have advanced to state in TSA and in the 2014 marching band. I have shown leadership by illustrating what to do to succeed. However, the area where I have demonstrated the most leadership is on the football field.
"The final test of a leader is that he leaves behind himself in other men the conviction and the will to carry on.” – Walter Lippmann
The story of Invictus is based upon the life of Nelson Mandela during the time he held his Presidency of South Africa. Specifically, the movie focuses on his ideas of managing the Springboks and how the opportunity of using the country’s Rugby team unfolds as a way to bring the country together. Since The World Cup is being held in South Africa during the first year of his term, he sees The World Cup as an attempt to bring the whites and blacks together by finding pride in their home team’s victory. Mandela is successful at transforming the beliefs of South Africa through his styles of democratic leadership, transformational leadership, and interpersonal orientation leadership.
Summary: In this article the authors are addressing future leaders, and they immediately inform the reader that because there is more complexity considerably more complex issues and technologies than a century ago in the operational military environment, there is a great need for military leaders to achieve autonomy in terms of adapting to and learning about the evolving environment. In short, leaders must be smarter and better prepared for a changing world.
I hope all is well and that you are all thriving (and surviving), but I want to go over some things that might be really important that will benefit you all personally!
Per reference (a), there are three Leadership Behaviors in which I can improve upon. One behavior is “Describes a compelling image of what our future could be like.” Knowing that I am more of a pessimist, I have a tendency to not always see past the challenges and road blocks we have as a government organization and see that we can influence the future to make the Coast Guard an even better service than we are already. My plan is to recognize when unit personnel are feeling down about the future of our rating, advancements, and the organization as a whole. Then maintain a positive outlook of the future and show personnel how the changes we make today in policy and procedure are going to set our organization up for success in the future.
As a former employee as a cashier at Walmart, I had to meet strict expectations. It did not matter if I was sick or tired. I had to work 32 hours a week. I had to get hundreds of customers out the door and I had to scan at least 800 items per hour. Most importantly I had to do it all with I smile. I always did. I am a strong believer in hard work and putting other people's needs before your own. To sit and wait for the day to be over, for your bed to rest in, is no way to live. But to take every last ounce of your energy and put it towards another, that is something to take pride in. As a part of the Freshman Leadership program I would try my best to involve myself in order to be an affective contributor to the organization.
