Fortunately and unfortunately, I am a product of charter schools. I attended Achieve Charter Academy from fifth grade to eighth grade. I joined the first year that it opened, leaving all my elementary friends right before graduation. Over the course of the four years I was in multiple advanced courses and performing well. By eighth grade I was in geometry that counted towards high school credit, and feeling good about my academic path. I am grateful of this, but it did not prepare me well for the future years to come. The way we learned was very basic. There was not as much rigor as there would be in a class of that extent. I was never really challenged during the course of the year. They were caught for committing fraudulent and illegal activities from 2010 to 2014. This started after Devin was promoted as the Director of Finance and Allison was promoted to Controller as she worked directly under him. In 2012, they took advantage of fraudulent behavior because they had access to all of the finances in balancing checks and wiring transfers.
I attended the Centennial Christian School to visit one of the student, Ashley, who is diagnosed with cerebral palsy. It was interesting to see Ashley’s care plan that was written by Chris Robberts that outlines care of her stoma, flushing of water every hour at school via feeding tube, administering mediation via feeding, and what to do when the student has a ‘blank stare’ or grand mal seizure.

I am an 8th grade student at Memphis Street Academy. I am sure that many people believe us scholars shouldn't care about what happens to the school when we move on, but that is not the case. Most of the students graduating this year have been going to Memphis Street Academy for at least two years and are now almost about to graduate.
