According to the hierarchy of channel richness, telephone conversations are ahead of electronic messaging. The human voice carries a tremendous amount of emotional information which enhances the whole conveyance of information in relative to electronic messaging where none of any real emotional elements can be detected. Also, all desired inquiries can be answered instantaneously during calling. Almost every disagreement occurred in this case can be eliminated at all.
On the other hand, getting known the working style of other divisions of the company also reduced the unnecessary argument. If Chuck Moore understood the working style of the Mexican, he would adopt another form of interactions to push their production efficiency. He is no longer fumed with the replied from a secretary but listens to the actual reason of the late shipping and helps to resolve it for mutual benefits.
In conclusion, both communications channel and understanding of the working style contribute to effective flow of information.
