Chapter One : Family And Places

At 4:30 am, my alarm went off; I was more tired than ever. I rolled over stepping onto the wood floor. I walked to the bathroom feeling as if I could collapse and fall back into my deep sleep. After my shower, I went back into the snug, little room I was calling home for the time being at my grandparent’s house. I was at my grandparents house due to the fact that my dad and Stacy were already in the Dominican Republic. I packed my last few belongings and crawled back into the bed to fall asleep for a few minutes. I assumed that ten minutes had passed when I remember hearing my grandparents talking about how we had to leave soon. My grandma came in asking us what we had wanted for breakfast. Mickenzie and I told her we weren’t hungry and got out of the warm cozy bed to get in the car. After changing, we went out to the kitchen to say bye to our grandma, seeing that there wasn’t room for her in the car. She gave us a huge, tight bear hug telling us to be safe.

It was the first Sunday of December morning when my father asked me to take some boxes to the basement, I had never been down there, as a kid I always thought it was scary, but know as a 19-year-old guy, how could I say no. I went downstairs with a couple of boxes, but could not find any place to put them. The area was a mess, so I decided that I would organize every box that was there. While I was organizing, I notice this one box hidden in the back, so, I decided to open it. Inside the box, there was a newspaper and a couple of burnt pictures. Therefore, I decided to read the article, I could not understand much, it was an 18 years old newspaper, but it talked about a burning house with two twin babies, It said that one had been saved with no harm while the other one was rescued later on with severe burn mark. It was a miracle that other baby had survived, they called him miracle Carlos, and his brother Richard. I stood there for a second before my brain processed

I was sitting lazily on my couch watching tv it was Saturday morning the sun was up and the birds were out. I was bored I had nothing to do I had watched the same show on tv already at least 3 time I was too tired to get up so i watched the show again for a fourth time. That’s when my mom came in and turned off the tv “Spencer you have been watching the tv for 2 hours!” My mom said raising her voice “ why don’t you go outside and play?” “Uhh mom do I have to?” She gave me a sinister stare so i got up put my shoes got on my bike and rode away.

I was woken up with mom at the foot of my bed saying “Wake up sweetheart wake up” it is a beautiful day in Canada witch is where I live. As I get the gunk out of my eyes so I could so my mother clearly and I ask her what was wrong because she had never woke me up at 5:45 in the morning with out it being bad or something happened to the family. I got scared and my father, sister, and brother came into my room and was saying.“Calm down your going to be okay just pack your clothes,some of your personal items,and some food NOT caned food". Next I was getting ready and Carter my brother came into my room witch he had never done and told me him and dad would protect Kelsey, mom, and myself. As I walked into the kitchen we all picked different kinds of food and water. We started walking out the door and I said "Wait I need my picture of all my friends so i would remember them"so I went and got it.

One day there were four kids playing the playstation. Their names were Korey, Javi, Cole, AJ and Lane. Then Korey’s mom called all of them for lunch. Then they went outside, but there was a really old house. We asked my mom and she said, “ yes but but careful”. Then we decided to go to the house at night. So we ate dinner, and then went into my room to get dressed in black spy clothes. At about 11:50 we started to drive down to the old house by riding my atv. It took us ten minutes to get there. We made sure that we had all the gear that we needed. So we went inside, and we saw a dusty dinner table, and we saw old silverware.It was only 12:00 we promised my mom we would be back by 6:00 Then we stuffed started to get strange we was tired so

My family and I went to Colorado Spring for christmas break. We packed up all of our stuff then we put it all in the car. When we got done putting all of our stuff in the car we left we got on the highway. As soon as we got on the highway I took a nap. I woke up when we were in Colorado we were almost there. I was talking to my parents until we stop to get gas. I sat in the car until my dad got done filling the car up. We drove for a little bit and we were in Colorado Springs. We drove to my Aunt's house when we got there I took my stuff in the room I stay in. My cousin came from downstairs and said “Hi ” then he went back downstairs. My aunt put on a movie to all watch together. My grandma was cooking something for all of to eat when the movies was over I went to the kitchen to eat. I went to the kitchen table to talk to my dad. When my dad got done eating We heard a knock on the door we answered it and it was on of my uncles and aunts then my cousins walked in.

I turn and walk away when I get to the shed and reach up to the top shelf I go to grab the rails. Then i hear something behind me in the corn. I look down at strom her fur is standing and her back is arched, at this point i'm very scared. As I look back up at the corn I see an eyeball. I grab the rest of the rolls, then run back to the house and drop the food all over the porch. I lean against the house by this time I am breathing so heavily, i stand there for a minute to catch my breath. When i catch my breath, pick the rolls up and take them inside. I gave the rolls to my mother then went up to my room and calm down. By the time I calm down mom calls me down for supper. I walk down the stairs and walk into the dining room/kitchen and see momma granny and my papa sitting at the table napkins in their laps ready to eat, i politely say “sorry it took me so long.” momma says”It’s fine sweetheart.” i sit down and put my napkin on my lap. After dinner, I sneak a roll for the person in the shed and put it in the napkin. Then I tell momma that she could go sit down and I would clean the table. She leaves the room and I hurry up and clean up. I pick up the napkin with food in it put a blanket around me, grab a lamp, and run outside. As soon as I get in the shed I open the napkin and lay it out in front of the corn, nothing happens so I say if you eat this I will bring you food every night until you can leave. Then i get up and

I went to the dining room again to put my jacket on and I picked up my jacket and passed the couch to go to the computer. I turned it on to check the time. It was 6:50 on the bottom righthand corner of the computer. My brother was still watching youtube on the xbox 1. I put on my jacket while I was on my way to the stairs to see what my sister was doing. As I was walking up I heard a TV on. I went up to investigate what was going on. I opened my sister’s door and I found both of my sisters watching TV instead of doing what they have to do.

I woke up to my phone buzzing and the smell of breakfast downstairs.I looked at my texts and all my friends were planning on skipping school today. I got out of bed, got dressed, and went downstairs to eat. I grabbed my backpack, got on my school bus and headed to school to meet my friends. We met behind the school, all of us wanted to go on a road trip to see Mt Elbert. While we were deep in the forest we saw a mysterious house. My friends wanted to check it out, so we got out of the car and found a way in through the basement. As soon as we got in I got vague feeling i had been there before. I guess I was just making things up so I went back inside. I got under the covers again and Bear hopped up on the bed too and went to sleep. CRASH! I immediately woke up startled by the noise I nearly fell off the bed. Bear woke up too, he started barking but I covered his mouth quick enough so he wouldn't wake dad up. I tiptoed down the hall and said, "hello" to make sure someone was there I didn't hear anything so I went down the stairs into the kitchen. I saw that a window was open and the vase in front of the window was broken and pieces of it where scattered in front of the table. I shut the window and then I bent down to pick up the broken vase when i saw a brick with a note on it. It read,

I walk down the street with my best friend along with my brother Chandler, then we drop her off, turn around into the sidewalk, walk in the door, moms in the kitchen, dad grilling out on the back deck. I dash outside where my dad is grilling chicken. We grill, talk, laugh, grill, talk, laugh, and then a lady comes up and says, “ Sur y’alls house is on fire!!” I freak out and run inside to tell my mom and Chandler. We go outside and look ends up it the neighbor across the streets house. It was one of my brothers really good friends’ house. His name is John. My dad runs through the house and out the door BAM! Renata and I looked at each other, we were terrified! We thought that someone was trying to break into the house. As petrified as we were, we wanted to know what was going on. The curtains by the window were shut and anyone or anything could be out there causing the scratching noise. We started arguing on who would open the curtains to check what was out there. Finally, I stepped up and took the courage to check it out. Besides, this was my house. Mortified, I was shaking as I pulled the curtain swiftly. Renata and I both screamed! We had not even seen what was out there, but we were just really very scared. My Mom woke up and rushed into my room very worried, causing my brother to wake up, too. Then, we checked on what was causing the commotion outside the window. There wasn’t really a person at my window, it was a cat! Renata and I started laughing so hard to find out that it was nothing to be scared of, my Mom and brother were wondering what was going on. So, we told them what had happened and then we all started laughing. Our master evil plan went down the drain: to sneak out again without waking anyone up. It ended with waking up the whole household. And….nope! We absolutely did not tell my Mom that we were trying to sneak out. Oh, my word! We did not want to be grounded. I woke to a sound I could not identify. I immediately jumped out of my bed from the loud noise and fear of the unknown sound. After getting the courage to check out the noise. I grabbed my bat and house slippers a slowly made my way toward the hallway. It was dark and I could barely see in front of my face. When I reached my hand out to find the banister for the stairway I felt someone’s hand already there. I screamed instantly and turned on the light. It was my sister Karen standing there with an umbrella. Karen was so scared she had her eye’s closed with the umbrella open. I asked, “what are you doing in the hall with an umbrella”? she replied, “I heard a scary noise downstairs and was going to check what it was”. I started to chuckle and

It was around midnight, 3am was the bedtime norm when it came to the Sosa’s, and it was one of those times where nothing eventful was happening. I started walking around the small house, taking in all the details of it to entertain my mind. I reached the back of the house to find my mom sat inside a small closet. She was looking through boxes that seemed old and a little torn. I didn 't think much of it until I noticed her staring intently at an object in her hand. Like she was going to rip a hole through it with her stare. I walked a little closer to see it was a frame with a picture of a pretty

The next morning it was a Saturday, I got dressed in so comfortable clothes and headed towards the living room. I sat on the light brown colored couch. The couch had different patterns, including the pillows. I picked up the remote and flicked on some TV shows. I was in the middle of watching a show, when My mom and dad come to me with an excited look on their morning faces. The light came in, shining on them like they're on stage. There was a long silence, you could hear a pin drop. I looked at my mom then dad and did it again. Until my dad finally spat it out, “We found a house were going today and seeing it!” I felt my excitement was about to burst.
