This document assesses how the growth and survival of the Coca-Cola Company can be attributed to their leadership and management style over time till date. With an existence of 127 years in the beverage industry, Coca-Cola Company have been recognized with the title of the world’s largest beverage company, (Coca-Cola Company 2012), offering more than 500 brands in over 200 countries or territories and serves 1.6 billion servings each day. This vision 2020 is where he believes that the company and bottling partners should be headed in the next decade. For his experiences and good managerial skills obtained throughout his experiences, I intend on focusing on leadership and management style as whole after which I plan on narrowing it down to leadership and management of Coca-Cola Company as a franchise business. Knowing the large size of this company, my research analysis will be focused on research, investigation and detailed study of the Ghanaian branch of this franchise. John Pemberton, led him to create a flavored syrup, which was then mixed at his neighborhood pharmacy with carbonated water to create the unique and thirst quenching soft drink we know today. During its first year, under the leadership of Pemberton, sales was seen to have totaled to an amount of $50 against an initial investment cost of over $70 causing the soft drink to experience its first loss. Prior to Pemberton’s death two years later, the secret formula of this drink was sold to mainly Asa Candler for $2300.
Under Candler’s leadership, the distribution of Coca-Cola expanded to soda fountains beyond Atlanta and by the late 1890s, Coca-Cola was one of America’s most popular fountain drinks. It was believed that this progress was mainly because of Candler aggressive marketing of the product.
