Growing up you hear, "You can do anything you set your mind to," and as you get older you begin to hear, "Follow your dreams, but maybe you should major in business management, there's always a job with that." Courage is following a path you have faith in whether or not everyone else does. It's doing something new, vibrant, artistic, and not business management.
If I've learned one thing from my extensive gameplay of follow the leader in elementary school, it's that following people will only get you to the same place they are. My personal mission for college is to go off the beaten path. Take chances. Say yes. Be a leader. Be more creative and from that improve myself and inspire those around me to as well. I plan to grow in my field, grow
Former baseball player Tommy Lasorda once said, “The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person’s determination.” The journey of our life is full of winding paths and concrete obstacles whose sole goal is to slow us down, and to attempt to block us from reaching our ultimate goal in life, whatever that may be. These barriers are there for several different reasons, whether it be mental or physical. Sometimes these obstacles are motivated by fear, other times they exist simply because we have to make a decision, and that decision can be life changing. But through our determination, and through our perseverance, we can achieve what these barriers told us was impossible, and can pursue the path in our life that leads us to our ultimate self. Throughout my life, I have had thousands of barriers stand in my path. And the only way I was able to defeat them was through conquering my fears, and breaking my limits in order to achieve excellence.
My life has been an ongoing stuggle, but my hard work, determination, and enthusiasm for my education have enabled me to pursure my dreams. My academic plans are to major in pre-occupational therapy. After graduating and completing the prerequisite, I plan to obtain a license in Occupational Therapy by attending OT School. Success does not come from a pay check. For me, helping and assisting others acheive their goals is the purest form of success. I want to travel and eventually settle down in my hometown. My overall career goal is to give back to the community that shaped me into the person I am. I am a hardworking-dedicated student, who focuses on my work, yet I have always enjoyed being involved in extracirricular activities. As you can see from my application, I enjoy sports and clubs. In the following year, I plan to get deeper involved
I graduated from high school on 2002 and I never stop thinking about going back to
Goals, goals, goals they're what people think about and how they are going to achieve them in the future. My three goal in life are to get in the college of my choice, go skydiving and to get a well paying job. These three goals are important to me because they are what I am likely to achieve within the next ten years. As I grow and blossom into someone big, someone bigger than who I am today I don’t mean just physically but bigger intellectually, and more capable. These goals show me that if I want to achieve them, then I have to work hard to accomplish them.
Life is a continual learning process, which requires a strong method to develop better ways of apprenticeship. Personally, being able to obtain a higher education gives me an opportunity to be better in many ways. Everyone should have any personal goals in life in order to survive, prosper and succeed in every journey that life gives. As for me, being a University of Phoenix student, I hope to achieve all of my goals on which I have been trying to pursue and obtain through the years. They are goals that I believe I need to have to be a successful member of the society, and through attending the university I also hope to gain a more positive image of myself, build my personal growth, along with achieving
The pursuit of attending college has been a personal desire and goal for as long as I can remember. While maintaining a rigorous academic course load, I also had a passion for excelling in my music endeavors. My superior GPA and yearly testing scores broadened my career choices but made it difficult to discern whether I wanted to pursue something in the field of medicine, education, or music. The academics, experiences, and activities that I have been involved with throughout my life, definitely have shaped and encouraged me to think deeper about what it is that I would truly love to excel in on the college level and pursue as a life-long career.
It’s a weird feeling being compared to your seven-year-old sister. It’s an even weirder feeling when you’re being compared because she can run five times as long as you can.
From a young age, I have never particularly excelled in any field. I was an average student and average at all of my so-called talents. However, my perception of myself changed in 7th grade when I joined the Debate club at my school. That one club helped me realize my potential and taught me not to underestimate myself. During my journey in that club, I learned a lot of things. Having needed to debate on various issues around the world, this club was an eyeopener to the privileged life I lived. It was that year I made a decision to make this passion of mine into a career- a human rights lawyer. It is has been 3 years since I took that decision and my passion hasn't diminished. Ever since that year, I have strived to be the best version of myself
I was raised in a military household; both of my parents were in the U.S. Navy. Growing up I was taught proper discipline, a sense of order, and a firm belief in right and wrong. These skills allowed me to be able to conduct my life with a sense of purpose and gave me the confidence to accomplish anything I set my mind to. I myself spent 5 years in the U.S. Navy and I am definitely a better person for it. The military taught me many essential life skills that I feel give me a unique perspective and advantage when it comes to accomplishing my goals. The military taught me self-discipline and instilled high standards for everything I do. I learned teamwork and leadership skills, stress management, and global awareness. The military teaches you
According to Zadie Smith, she states “ In my situation, every time I write a sentence, I am thinking not only of the people I ended up in college with but my siblings, my family, my school friends, and the people from my neighborhood. I have come to realize that this is an advantage, really; it keeps you on your toes.” ( Smith ). When I first arrived at Brunswick Community College, I did not have a for sure plan on what I wanted to do with my future. To be honest, I was not really that concerned about my future. I was more concerned about what I could do in baseball and how far I could go in the game. It has taken me my first semester in college to understand how truly blessed I am to even be able to play baseball in college along with
Ever since my brother left off to college in 2006, from the way he described his experiences to me, I saw college as a life changing experience. With a better understanding, I still believe college to be an experience of a lifetime both socially and educationally. Although I want that experience for my undergraduate year, the main purpose of my time in college is to increase my knowledge of study in a major I love in order to soon attend a graduate school of medicine then start a career as a medical doctor.
Happiness is something everyone strives for and if you are not, then I guess you already found it. I believe when I get a job and a family that happiness is the key to enjoying life. If I am not happy with a job or I dread going to work every day, then I will look for a new one. The point is that having the college and job of my choice already set up for me is about the best thing anyone can ask for. I picked this miracle worker because it provides me with the most happiness out of all the things I could ask for.
The breathtaking emotions that embrace me every time the city stares at me right in my eyes, is what draws my attention to the field. I desire a connection created for the equality of the rich and the poor; I desire a shelter built to open new horizons; I desire a space opened to lead us to the eternal balance between human and nature.
For many, after graduating high school the next big step is college. I never asked myself why or if I even wanted to. Yet, since I was not yet ready to join the work force, and didn’t want to disappoint my parents, I simply followed the path that I was supposed to take. For a while I had no direction, but through the loss of my high school English teacher and my dream of making my family proud, I discovered that college was the place I wanted and needed to be.
College is exciting, but also extremely nerve racking as well. All the decision makes life stressful, with that I am going to state my personal mission, assess myself and finally make some goals. In the long run I hope to lower the stress levels by making a plan.
