Colombia, a country at the northern tip of South America. It touches both Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The landscape throughout Colombia consists of rainforests. The Spanish speaking country is very different towards the country I live in, America, however, there are some similarities between the two. I will discuss the social life, cultural, and economic reasons that each country the way they are in their own way.

Colombia is a country on the northwest coast of South America. Colombia shares a border with Venezuela, Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and Panama. Colombia is divided into thirty-two departments. These departments are subdivided into municipalities. One of the municipalities is Cesar. Colombia has one capital district named Bogota. It has a population of 47,220, 856 million people in the year of 2016. Columbia has eight major political parties. Three out of those eight are the Liberal Party, Radical Change, and the Green Alliance. Each political party has there own leader. For example Horacio Serpa is the leader of the Liberal Party. The urban population in Colombia was last measured at 76.44 in two years ago. Bogota, Medellin, Cali and Barranquilla have seen economic activity. The rural areas in Colombia are Boyacá, Cauca, Chocó, Huila, Sucre, and Tolima are the poorest. They have limited access to schooling exacerbates poverty, and illiteracy is high in rural

That may seem like an abundance of deaths by murder, but the United States had 14,249 homicides (“2014 Crime”). The crime rate in Colombia is the lowest it has been since the early 1970’s and has been steadily dropping since 2009 (“Thanks to”). By looking at the slowing down of homicide rates in Colombia, one can see that their government is getting stronger than ever, which is important because the lack of authority in the past gave Colombia a violent history from the drug wars.

Colombia, a transcontinental country is located in the northwest of South America. This location allows Colombia to contain a copious amount of natural resources and origins of the Indigenous Indians, African, and Spanish people who reflect upon the diverse culture of the country. Beyond this quintessential world, is a ravaged land that has been affected by a long span of violence involving outlaw cartels increasing the production of drugs being processed which is negatively effecting the government and people of Colombia as well as other countries.

A journey through the capital of Colombia is an excellent and unforgettable experience. Bogotá is the largest city of Colombia. It´s a diverse and multicultural city with wonderful green landscapes, formed by high green mountains in contrast with modern buildings and colonial old places evoking the past. First, you can hike Monserrate, a place to take good pictures and you can visit the catholic church. Besides, it’s possible to take a tour of La Candelaria. It’s in downtown and it has a beautiful classic architecture. You can walk on its little cobblestone streets and maybe buy some souvenirs. Bogotá has about 50 museums. It’s a great idea to visit some of them like National museum or Golden Museum, when you can see amazing

Colombia has many different types of geographical features including deserts, mountains, and beaches. Colombia has mountains that go down the middle of the country, these mountains are called the Andes Mountains. The mountains tower over the beautiful rainforests of Colombia, this is the Amazon rainforest.The country also has beaches going to the Caribbean sea and the Pacific ocean. The beaches have off white sand leading to the clear turquoise water. There are also many rivers that run through Colombia. Apart from the beautiful rainforests Colombia also has deserts. The savannah desert is located next to the mountains in the middle of the country.

Colombia is a land blessed in many regards, rich in resources, people, and culture. In fact, there is an old adage that describes the multitude of opportunities found there:

Colombia is located in the northwest of South America. The current population is estimated to be in the region of 46.73 million with the capital city Bogota being the most populated. The labour force is estimated to be 24.34 million. Colombia’s major resources are oil and coal. The country operates in a representative democracy which attempts to empower the masses. Deep political divisions in the 1940’s and 1950’s gave rise to several anti government guerilla groups, such as the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).
