Not too long ago, I moved from Jersey City, New Jersey to Beaumont, Texas. The move from a big city to a small city was a huge transition for me. Life in Jersey City is very fast-paced and a bit rowdy. On the other hand, life in Beaumont is slow-paced, and the atmosphere is a lot calmer. Of course, Jersey City and Beaumont have the same kinds of entertainment, such as malls, parks, and museums. However, the big city of Jersey City and the small city of Beaumont are quite different when it comes to climate, transportation, and school. Jersey City and Beaumont vary when it comes to the climate. Jersey City gets the four seasons. Spring days are cool and rainy, and allergies are usually low. Summers are hot and little bit humid. During fall, …show more content…
Jersey City provides more variety of transportations than Beaumont. First, Jersey City has a more efficient public transportation. For example, there a lot more public buses available, and people can also use trains, such as the Pathway system, the subway, and the Light Rail to get from one place to another. These public transportations are very organized and makes everyday life a lot easier. In addition, the public transportations are used to travel long distances, like to other states and more often to New York City. Since Jersey City is a big city and heavily populated, driving around is aggravating because of the terrible traffic. Jersey City does not have much free space, so the streets are narrow which creates heavy traffic. Many people prefer taking the bus or the train to go to work or school since it is a lot quicker and cheaper than driving. On the contrary, Beaumont has more free space and wider roads which means less traffic, and driving is a bit more tolerable. For that reason, people from Beaumont drive more often and use their own car to get to work or school. Moreover, public transportation is not use by many because it is more convenient for people to use their own
Imagine yourself moving to a different city. You have looked at all the cities you would most likely move to and you have finally picked out that El Paso, Texas and London, England are your two final choices. After narrowing down the options to two cities its important to look at similarities and differences. Although El Paso, Texas and London, England are similar in their cheap housing and exuberant job opportunities, they differ in their getaways, job opportunities, and housing.
Within the Gulf Coastal region of Texas lays the city of Beaumont, Texas. Although extremely small in comparison to its close neighbor, Houston, Beaumont is considered a larger town to those around it, including Port Neches, Vidor, China, Orange, and Lumberton. Beaumont is home to more than 117,000 residents, with most of these residents living in urbanized areas. However, Beaumont possesses a range of demographics that characterize it, specifically the income, race, and gender of the city.
Moreover, public transportation is mainly common in means of transportation in and out of NYC due to the convenience, cost, and efficiency of public transportation. It has become more easily accessible due to having subways in nearly every other block, which is cheaper and faster. Public transportation is faster than driving into the city at times since it escapes the traffic on roads since it is underneath. Public transportation contains buses, trains, and light rails as well. Once again, automobile and the city of tomorrow can coexist, but it is not ideal in today’s
Many people moved away from the city to live in the clean, safe suburbs. Therefore, the use of automobiles for transportation was promoted because the suburbs were further away from the city. This lead to the vast expansion of the national highway system. This new highway system was accessible to the suburbs and the city because it connected the suburbs with the city and made transportation faster. The national highway system also made it easier for those living in the suburbs to commute to work in the city (“Suburban Homes”).
The United State has always been weak in public transportation and mass transit tools. California was once supposed to be different and revolutionized. Trolleys connecting the suburbs to the city and business districts was the main reason why cities expanded vertically. These mass transit tools organized the transits in an extremely environmentally friendly way. But the venue of cars and the thought of independence flattered americans pushing them to each buy a car, synonym of their independence. Now the trains and connecting public transportations have practically disappeared and are irrelevant.
| Multiple means of transportation are noted. Most people drive cars to work in the city because the housing becomes more rural and dispersed outside the city limits. Two people are noted to be riding pedal bikes through town. People who live within the city can also walk or take the public bus. The municipality owns the buses and
There are also other factors that could explain the big differences between these cities. The ethnic and racial makeup of the people living there and their educational levels could be a big difference. To really explain the increase or decline in both these cities is difficult because the two areas that I choose are so very different in population is really the biggest difference.

No city in the United States is the same. From great metropolises like New York, Los Angeles or Washington D.C. to small cities like Newark or Toledo, every city is different. If you look at some of the most well-known small cities, there is Orlando and St. Louis. Most people view Orlando as a city home to many exciting amusement parks and attractions and view St. Louis as a city ridden with crime that is on a population downturn that will take a long time for it to recover from. These cities differ in many ways and there are pros and cons for traveling to each destination. To begin the two cities differ in attractions. Orlando is best known for its entertainment, with it containing some of the highest rated amusement parks in the world such as Disney World, Seaworld, and
Transportation in the region has a long and successful past. However, public transportation has consistently taken a back seat to the personal automobile. There has been a strong core of persons who rely on public transportation to achieve mobility, and governmental
Growing up in the same city for just about your whole life gets you accustomed to the same routine everyday. You know where you're going, you see all too familiar faces, and life just seems so bland. That was my case. I've lived in San Antonio for all my seventeen years of life, and have always wanted a sense of venture. However, when the summer of my Junior year came around, that completely changed. Being involved with my high school theatre company has given me many amazing opportunities, one of them occurring every year around November, when my troupe and I attend the Texas Thespian Festival. The festival takes place in Dallas and since it's a state festival, countless schools from across Texas travel to the fabulous Omni hotel and not
While the least amount took place on tollways with just 13 fatalities. So what is so significantly different about traveling on tollways than highways? Well for one, you have to pay to get on the tollway so of course a lot less people travel on it. A possible theory to avoid heavy traffic, is to travel before or after rush hours to avoid congested roads.
In New York they experience all four seasons. The leaves change colors in the fall, it snows in the winter, the grass gets greener because it rains a lot in the spring, and
The next thing to consider is the pace of life in both areas. At the beach the pace of life is slow. So it is the great place to go to relax and take things one day at a time. Things are mellow and not a lot of unhappiness. At the beach there can be a crowd but there is always an empty spot for you or someone else. People are friendly and always willing to talk to you and help you in any way you need. In the city the pace is much faster. It seems as people are always coming and going. Streets are packed at all times of the day. People are grumpy and unhappy
Public transportation can help reduce stress caused by driving, save money, and also protect our environment by reducing the number of vehicles on the road. In order to get more people off the road and into the public transportation system we must increase the number of buses and taxis that are available. We must also increase the number of stops available for daily bus routes. With more stops on the map more people are likely to use the bus system. Each city or town will be able to decide where more bus stops are needed and make the adjustments necessary to provide better service for the taxpaying citizens. Of course, none of this is possible without adequate funds in each town/city and the gas tax is guaranteed to provide those funds. Providing more public transportation will help us reach our ultimate goal of protecting the environment and ourselves.
