Culture is the way people do things it is social behavior and norms found in human societies, the way they behave or belief David Jehan (2014), therefore culture affects various issues or factors such as expectation; what passengers expect, passenger behavior i.e. how do they behave during customs clearance procedures and religion influences passenger culture much. Language also is an element of passenger culture that affects the way they interact with the customs officers at the airport. Different cultures from those of customs officers or of the Kenyan laws may slightly or greatly differ hence misunderstanding between international passengers and customs officers.
Culture includes religion, what we wear, how we wear it, our language, marriage, music, what we believe is right or wrong, how we greet visitors, how we behave with loved ones as well as how people behave when they are in the public places like at the customs baggage hall, culture consists in those patterns relative to behavior and the products of human action which may be inherited, that is, passed on from age to age without the involvement of the biological genes David Jehan (2014)
